  • loll not..

  • LIES

  • :43 to :53 is the best stand throw ive ever seen. i try to hit that form in practice and it helps.

  • uuughhh...you gotta pay attention to copywrite

  • yeah, his pivot is amazing. his pull as well.

  • the power is in the right foot pivot

  • the speed at 4:04 is absolutely amazing

throw at 0:48 went 64 meters. wow

  • what meters was the throw at 4,03???

  • I've lifted weights in the same gym as this (super)man. Unbelievable.

  • Yeah that throw is beautiful =D

  • my only goal in life is to be compared to him

  • i wanna know. is 74ft his personal best b/c i can throw 108ft lol

  • no. his PB is 234.5 with a 2k

  • hmm for one season lars was black

  • the name for the non-reverse style is the Hard Block style

  • I want to know how you can convert the whip action of the none reverse without pulling away from the throw?

  • i watch videos of him to get my techniqe right. im similarly built like him so it work reel good.

  • he is the reason i dont reverse in the discus.

  • me too

  • I have to say that the non-reverse technique is the most consistent (where one can almost always get a good whip motion near the end). Yet it feels that the explosion is restrained. If you watch Jurgen Schult's world record throw, he let out his big one on a reverse.

  • you're right. but even though Schult threw that far with the reverse, he still chose to throw non-reverse for the rest of his life and for that reason and because of Lars Riedel i will never reverse in my life.

  • I have been experimenting and switching back and forth with this technique and the common reversal technique (I must say it's very hard to lift the disc high on a good float, where the disc doesn't tip; reversing, however, sometimes prevents me from making a good whip at the end). It's hard for me to stick to one technique or the other.

  • where do they sell these discus? (other than online please.)

  • what a beautiful man

  • lol

  • it seems like he doesn't spin so he gets a lot of power from his hips

  • wat are the pros and cons of stopping at the end of the throw like him and not spinning through it like kanter or alekna

  • depends on your body size and your preferences, basically everything after your throw has nothing to do with distance, its just about not fouling so maybe someone with larger upper body might not be able to stop when they reach max throwing speed, thus they spin to keep from falling forwards. conversely if a small person spins afterwards their lower body goes out of control and they may fall to the side or backwards. remember though, it also has to do with personal preference.

  • My hero <3

  • he is the biggest ever discus thrower...

  • By the way, what is the music that is playing?

  • Lars Riedel is absoulutely amazing at the discus, he makes it look so easy! I remember watching him on TV when he won the World Championships at Edmonton in 2001. I still have the video of the Edmonton games.

  • Nice vid

  • Lars Riedel: one of the most charismatic thrower. he doesn't have the world record but not many athlete can have his carreer. I love him and I'm very sad to not see him throw...

  • he has an incredible standing throw

  • lars riedel es la leyenda viviente del lanzamiento del disco

  • yes, what I mean is that when he won the 96 olympic games, he did it with an olympic record, alenka has it since 2004(69.89m)

  • He's simply the best discus thrower

  • Love this non-reverse technique. A few people use it, but not as good as him!

  • very fast fast arm

  • he is the greatest athlet in discus ever
