@andrewkierans it might be youtube compression but looking at the footage i experienced something like this before, with my sanyo, it might be that the iso is turned up. cuz it seems to be grainy normally i use a 50 to 100 iso on sunny days. my pictures and videos come out awesome. i say for the sanyo xacti HD its a camera you need to play with and know the settings to make good pictures. also some footage you saw may have been edited.
Obviously, the reason why it's, as you all have clearly said "crap", is because of the video's compression while being converted. I'm sure when the video's not converted to .flv, the quality would be crisp and clear.
But other than all the technical stuff, I'm still going to get this camera hopefully before Christmas, and also, give the guy a break.
How many minutes of video can you record in HD with a 16 GB sd card ?

something wrong with the compression - i've seen some amazing footage taken with this camera.
given the shaky nature of small cameras such as these, i recommend use with a tripod.
mini gorilla pods are affordable and will do wonders for enthusiasts looking to get the most out of their mini cams
