this is actually bullshit to a point. it's not only the operating systems, it's the computers that they're loaded on. PC World or Maximum PC did a test on this to build one that booted in under 30 seconds and succeeded using a fast system board, SSD and registry tweaks for their windows 7. Which means doing that and using XP, Vista, or 7 you could make it very quick to fire up

Vista and 7 may have direct x 10 " whoop-de-doo " my games still ran faster under xp.

I have used an HP from 1997 that is 50x slower then the netbook. Took three minutes to start. And it had 95 not a new OS.

What are you basing your opinion that macs are better than PCs on?

1. Most if not all the buisnesses that use computers use PCs. 2. Macs are very limited in customization and program compatibility. You can't get 2 x 3 GB Patriot Viper DDR3 2000 MHZ ram for mac because it doesn't have the 'mac compatibilty.' 3. From me, macs really really suck performance wise to a PC. I am using windows 7 right now on my new pc witch had xp and its pretty cool i have a 512 Ram and 1.8 GHz and the drivers are pretty low on memory and it runs sweet! But there is a problem with the graphics card it sucks a lot and it cant run the aero feature which was at both vista and 7 and i love it! I'm sure windows 7 is faster, but that demo was a little dramatic. They had windows sidebar open on the vista machine. Of course it was a dramatic difference in speed. Sidebar slows your shit way down. I am running 6 GB Memory in my machine and if I open sidebar, the difference in performance is very noticeable. Nothing against windows 7, I'm sure it's great, but then so was Barack Obama before he took office!

I think MS has to reevaluate its OS. Windows 7 is a step in a better direction as it seems faster and more efficient.

But you've got OSX which is extremely fast at starting up and as far as I know more secure than Windows. I'm a PC guy personally but I also like to be realistic.

I'm not tech enough to say what MS has to do but they are not really on par with Apple in the OS department right now.
