"The Free Design only not quite as assured"--well articulated, friend! You also have a knack for quick jokes in a way that I've never quite accomplished. It's hard enough for me to spit out the group name, record name, and the company properly.
As for those writers, no I haven't read them. Have you read Celine, Bataille or Bulgakov? They, like the authors you mention, have no more idea if God exists or not but they make entertaining and challenging reading.
Calm down, my Christian friend. Many of my comments are facetious. A little levity goes a long way I find. I have not rejected Jesus, neither have I accepted him, but I do regard his life, if it is to be taken as reality, as a fine example to us all. I have no time for religion filtered and fed to the masses, I have no time for preachers and men who claim to have a hotline to God. Belief should be a private matter.
I have the Queens Nectarine Machine, but it is very scratched up. Sad to hear about your rejection of Jesus. Maybe you could give your reasons why instead of insults. As a Christian, I rarely hear reasons why, I mostly get comments like yours. Have you read C.S.Lewis? Spurgeon? Cromwell? These men could hardly be considered "crazies".
My mom owned an autographed copy of the Queen's Nectarine Machine. I still have the cover, but the album was broken. I always felt guilty about it. A few guys in the group were friends of hers. Looked for a replacement copy for years. Could never find one. I can't belive someone else has heard of them. What a great album.

I discovered them in a book on American 60's/70's music and won a copy off ebay. As you say, it is a great LP.
