it was ok at best, i remember when i saw the show live when they performed and i wasn't too excited about it then and not so much now, they are both great talents but i think it was the song that they chose to sing, ga on my mind is not an upbeat song and they totally tried to make it that, and they were singing it too hard, needed to be a bit more mellow, like your sitting on your porch in a rocking chair on a hot summers day drinking ice cold tea, now that what ga on my mind sounds like

never ever...in my life has anyone ever deserved an acadamy award more...he became ray for us...right before our gratefull eyes...i dont think i will ever see someone portray a legend like he did....i have see the movie i own the movie i have watched it dozens of times...and i still get choked up during it...one more thing... the music to be so well incorporated into a story...not just for the sake of the movie but part of the story...and the music of his life

@jackskillet - yes I agree, because Taylor Hackford (and Jamie) understood the responsibilty they had - that Ray Charles executed everything he did in his life to the highest level. They had enough respect for the man to put their heart and souls into the movie and make it something inspiring and with a purpose beyond the music knowing that people would accept it as Gospel. Jamie had big cahooties to try and do this thing - he could have looked very foolish if it bombed.
