im speechless, cant breathe! ballerinas, i think the can stop time, and slow time movements! sometimes they look so unaturally like in slow mode on dvd players, with winds around them also moving so slow. like having no time limits or gravitation
She's too careful. I've seen much better versions of this - and I LOVE Alessandra ... just seems like she isn't dancing to full capacity here. It's still beautiful, though. She's always amazing. I've just seen her MORE amazing before. ;p LOVE the dress!
Glorious dancing...her precision is just remarkable. And I add to the praise of the dress: never seen a skirt behave so beautifully in spins both slow and fast.
Her dress blooms like a jellyfish gently bobbing in the sea! Other than that, I can't get over how precise and light she is, so assured in technique and composure.
im training to be a ballerina and i have her arch which my teacher complements and im still new at it but i really hope i can get as good as her shes amazing
WOW! I loooooooove her feet. i want to be a ballerina, but I got the worst feet in the world. my orthpedist says that i will never can dance en pointe. i got pointe shoes, and i try them on every day, but I cant dance. well, its good to see people with wonderful feet- i dont know why,,,
@TheBalletgirl09 Who cares what your orthopedist says about your feet? He can't make you stop dancing. One of my friends at ballet used to have terrible feet, but she has worked on making them better, and now they are. Not all of us are blessed with really good feet, but you can prove that your feet don't control how you dance.
@TheBalletgirl09 Who cares what your orthopedist says? Trust me, if you work on your feet, they'll definitely get better. The feet don't make the dancer. You can conquer your feet.
It's her stronger foot. Hops on point are very challenging for her, with those incredible arches. Check out her Juliet and Manon, tho -- she's awesome.

This is a Prima Ballerina? How poor technique! If you want to see a variation of Giselle with virtuosity and Romantic style look on youtube Barbara Garcia's Giselle of National Ballet of Cuba. She is a true Etoile!
I disagree. As for the technique this might not be her best but from my opinion, Giselle as a character should be romantic as well as perky. She's a young girl living in a cottage falling in love. Not exactly the same kind of romanticness as La Sylphide. And Alessandra Ferri totally expresses those emotions well.
I'm auditioning for a mini-ballet at my dance studios soon. It's scenes from Giselle! I was wondering what the character of Giselle's personality is like? So many ballerinas dance her differently. I really want to get Giselle! Help?
i think this is more great ballet than those before us. it was too technical last time.
this is perfect in music, technique, timing and the best of all its a story danced and told in a more real way! i bet a non ballet cultured person will enjoy her dance more than any other ballerina before!
ferri is an absoluteley stunning giselle!!! no doubt about it her madness scene is one of the most bielevable i9've ever seen!!! alessandra ferri is an amaziing actrees and an amaziing ballerina.
just look at those turns...clean, extremely slow and grounded, so controlled...probably the best tecnique ever...not to talk about the body and THE FEET!!we love you Alessandraaaa
OMGESUS!!! If you guys love Ferri and Fracci, you absolutely MUST see Xiomara Reyes as "Giselle". I used to like Ferri best for this, but now it's a tie. And if you saw Reyes two years ago, throw away your old perception of her. She's ENTIRELY different now, triple the ballerina she ever was. So, yeah, if you like Ferri and Fracci, check out Reyes. You won't be disappointed ;D
Alessandra Ferri is my absolute favorite ballerina of all time. Though she was never a virtuoso dancer, she injected her own fire and beauty into every role. By the way, this is La Scala. I own it on DVD. :)

She appears to be wearing a rather sheer, revealing blouse section her bodice.is that by accident or design.
TZEITEL10 1 year ago
@TZEITEL10 I also noticed, but its part of the charm of Giselle, she is there to seduce him !
SJS404 1 year ago
@SJS404 I think Albrecht is the seducer, poor Giselle is supposed to be naive and unworldly. Her inexpeience is her downfall.

She has such a beautiful face! I wished I looked like her!
And danced like her, of course! ^^
