Now, thanks to our government's inability to mind it's own business, we're buried in Toyotas--each with a stylized symbol of a mushroom cloud on the grill. He should have brought with him some carefully-considered/dated/doc­umented evidence from his time period to support his claims and even if he did eliminate Hitler, would that have made a difference? His vision was shared by millions, esp. by the military. He could kill Hitler, but not his ideals.

That's probably true. Heinrich Himmler or someone else would have just picked up where Hitler left off. And killing Hitler at that juncture would have just made him look like a martyr, probably adding fuel to the movement. Hitler was quite popular in Germany, after all, prior to the war breaking out. A lot of Germans saw him as their savior after the horrid post-WWI conditions. That said, yes, I think most of us would try and go back in time and stop the Holocaust any way we could...
