can you put any camera into this housing?? and how deep do you think it will take? i have an underwater camera but it only goes to 10 foot so could i use this to take it deeper??
I have tested it to the depth of 100 ft (c. 30 m) on several occasions. Worked well. As regards other cameras: go to the plummer's supply shop with you camera and try your camera with various elbows.
@catfishftw im looking for a underwater camera but i dont want to spend more then $1000 if i have to i would but what kind of camera you have are would recommend for me?
@AaronCallais depends on how much you want to spend....you can buy a fujifilm z33 wp or an olympus stylus tough 6020 for a couple hundred bucks but if your going big im sure they have options towards $1000. Honestly though, I can use the 2 stated above for all purposes anyway so id just go with one of those preferably the olympus becaause it's idiot proof lol (shock, dust, water, freeze)
Well, metal means more difficulties in attaching and sealing the glass. Besides, making 0-boyancy would be a problem. PCV with added led is the best choice/
At that time it was not available. Now I have one and have to say, that my previous model, if tethered to belt is capable of self-leveling in the water. This is not achiebale by Hero Go Pro. It delivers images/movie as wobbly your moving body.
Did buy it, and was disappointed: it does not focus underwater. The manufactures are working on the problem, but it seems it needs a special underwater case to film underwater. Technically it can be submerged deep enough, but at the moment it is completely useless under water.
@DjN3oX I use remote to press "Rec" button, and "stop" when I come to the water. Simple. Alternatively the battery dies, and there is no need to press anything again. When you dive, you do not think about the camera. When you need too shoot, just point the camera in right direction (fisheye!). If you forget about the camera, it will hung on the string, and still will be shooting, and vertical, and pointing backwards. I got nice shots this way.
From the video I see that do in pleksiglas is hard work. Thief had some tool with diamond, in this equipment (I don't know the name of tool) and he cuts the glass with this tool- do the same tool, and cut the glass. Your work be easier.
Can the Aiptek used in this video record while the viewfinder is not open? On mine it needs to be opened to be on. Will the tube support having the viewfinder open?
Yes, but you need to disassemble the camera (search yourtube for "Aiptek dissasembly) and remove the magnet in the flip screen. Naturally on your own risk. However I found that standard scuba tank last the same time as your battery in Aiptek. Surface and change the battery.
@kingarthurup : 30 meters on several occasions. Seach for "Potapov" and "Sting Rays" on Yourtube to see some results. Or "Potapov" and "Dutch Springs, PA" on youtube. [for some reason you tube does not let me to post direct link]

I pored some molten led into a hole in sand, and then made a sander job. Took 5 min to make preparation and to pore the led, and some 3 min of sanding. Time to cool the metal down did not count.
Cool I going to make something like this but it will have to strait instead of using an elbow

did you consider making it out of metal pipe so it would sink?

It looks absolutely horrible! But if it works then I suppose it's ok. I like the way you just chuck everything on the floor too.

So ... you have to press REC , then close then Case, then go do "your" stuff then get out of water... then open the case.. then stop the filming ?
