@jslovin23 To be fair, I filmed almost all of the arrests, and I never saw the police use excessive force, pepper spray, or tasers on anyone . They acted professionally and respected Food Not Bombs' free speech rights. They treated all the ones that I saw as protesters, not criminals, or enemy combatants. Having seen what has happened to too many Occupy protests, I thought it was important to point out the difference.
@4DPictures maybe these police officers acted better than those that pepper sprayed the college students or hurt the occupy wall street protester Olson but being arrested for the so-called crime of feeding homeless people without a permit is really an act of violence against those homeless.
@jslovin23 I was just trying to point out where the real responsibility for the criminalization of poverty lies. The ordinance making it a crime to feed homeless people is a creation of the Orlando City Council and the arrests were ordered by the Mayor. The police were just being used as errand boys.
Why does she even need handcuffs shes not violent shes not resisting it's an ordinance not a crime I just don't get it Do they do this every week? how long has this been happening? what's happened to your country? have you been to your town hall meetings? if so what's the word.Could you not feed them at your church rather than the park?
@2wheels88 If you'll take the time to read some of the other responses I've posted and watch some of the other videos on my channel, most of your questions will be answered. Thanks for watching.
@oneThousandvisions They were charged with violating the Large Group Feeding ordinance which was enacted in 2006 for the express purpose of moving Orlando Food Not Bombs and the people they feed out of downtown or "out of sight, out of mind". Check my website 4dpictures.tv for background on this story. Thanks for watching and adding a comment.
In the 60's we had the Civil Rights Freedom Riders.. Today I have never been more proud of this Food Not Bombs group for what I am sure has given this small group of "Feed Um" Fighters International attention...If buses left from California I would join them right now...Well Done !
@RLF777 Thanks for watching and adding a comment. I'm just a filmmaker covering the story. Praise and compliments should be directed to Orlando Food Not Bombs at their website.
@twn5858 Some of the officers involved have apologized to the people they arrested. Certainly not all of them. Still, all generalizations are bad. Thanks for watching and adding a comment.
I love this woman. I love whoever shouted the Hélder Câmara quote. I love Anonymous. You give this disillusioned, depressed, disgusted human being a tiny flicker of hope for this country. I'm not a Christian, but I admire Jesus a good deal, and I have no doubt that if he were alive, he'd be out there with you. Probably Buddha too.
