It allows you to vary the power you deliver to your engine, so that instead of having only as much as you can handle in a fixed hit off the line or having to wait till you're in say 2nd or 3rd gear to use a bigger fixed hit or alternatively needing multiple stages of nitrous to achieve different levels of power, you can achieve even better results than all 3 options put together from a single system.
