  • how does a javan and sumatran leopard look? or the sinae leopard of the sinae peninsula

  • i wish i had a leopard cub so bad. they are my favorite animal seriously

  • They are also the most dangerous cat to attempt to tame seriously. Of course they're also the least endangered so you wouldn't be doing the world a disservice by attempting to domesticate them, but the first child it sees it's not even going to know it's not supposed to eat, it's going to think the child is some exotic form of prey you are giving it as a treat however nice the cat may be to you, and may be unable to resist attacking you too, should you ever appear injured, even if it loves you.

  • I of course refer to the African leopard (which can be as much a pest over there, digging in garbage cans, as a raccoon is in the US), not say, the Amur leopard, whose extinction is imminent. The St. Louis zoo has an Amur leopard. Go there at the right time and you may be able to get some shots of the zookeeper feeding him hard-boiled eggs by hand. I did, and then my stupid motorola phone/camera died 4 months later. Stupid motorola.

  • Leopards are smart, strong, and grow very quickly. Take a housecat with an attitude and imagine that same cat with 50 more pounds. Then double that, twice. While a leopard is not likely to reach more than 200 lbs. it will have the strength and attitude of a far larger animal. These are not pets. One leopard (In 1908) is said to have over 400 human kills to its credit. It is this danger that makes them feared, hunted, and killed, although much of that fear is no longer justified.

  • why are'nt the russians doing more ? Like tearing down the fence , I volunteer some time. Can't let this happen in this day and age, there's just no excuse.

  • There are plenty of leopards in the world (mostly in sub-saharan Africa), they are in no danger of extinction AS A SPECIES, unlike the Iberian lynx. The chinese leopard is a subspecies. The most endangered subspecies is the Amur leopard.

  • Yanna and Li Ming are such happy leopards. Sad they may be the last of a line though. Extinction is forever - value this moment, it may never be seen again.

  • I thought they were clouded leopards? The world wild life org is trying to save them we have a program here in the US and so does Thailand. Is this cat the same or a different bread. They are so beautiful I hate poachers. All poachers should be imprisoned or shot like they do in Botswana.5 stars!

  • They are north chinese leopards, clouded leopards are entirely different. They arent even a subspecies of leopard.

  • Thank you for the information is there no way to find more and put these beautiful animals in a sancturary wildlife preserve they are so incredible and beautiful.

  • No, thats too quick of a death. Let them starve or bleed to death from a thousand pinpricks.

  • These are of the Panthera Pardus lineage. Clouded leopards are Neofelis nebulosa, so are seperate from the panthera line. The North Chinese leopard is facing a difficult time, considering the area of the world they live in. China is not exactly animal friendly. There are only about five facilities attempting to save them through captive breeding, and these two females may never find suitable mates due to the lack of intrest/desire of humans to save them through captive conservation. Continued..

  • I hate to say this but in order to try and at least save them can they be crossbread with clouded leopards or any other great cat that is similar.

  • Clouded leopard will not breed with leopards. Its like saying humans can breed with baboons. It just doesn't happen
