The short statements, rhetorical questions, and flashy graphics are part of an advertisers rhetoric. They haven't tried to sell you anything, but now you're thinking about social media and may have headed to their site dedicated to that - as intended. Statistics create an apparent objectivity but the effect of the video is still sensationalist.

I enjoyed the video, but revolutions come with guillotines. TV, radio, etc., still exist and are also evolving with better technology and content, so where is the revolution? Of course it took TV 13 years to match the numbers that FB generated in 9 months. Wow, this video was fascinating. The overwhelming popularity of social media sites is vastly changing the way we are relating to our friends, family, and even businesses and government. Its so important that businesses continue to stay abreast of these current trends and continue to reach their customers directly through these outlets.
The only problem with Wikipedia is that it isn't ALWAYS correct, because it's filled out by people... just like you and me. It's useful for getting an introduction to a new topic, but after that you need an "official" publication to make sure that information is correct.
That being said, I used Wikipedia to learn the basics of the information used for my Senior Engineering project.

Although the statements are out dated (April 2011), only be expected in this fast paced social network world, where 30 year old governments can be toppled within hours – it’s talkin to a generation of it’s time. Music is great! Driving it along – a story in it’s self – the journey of social networking. It also seems to be the only thing that this video is serious selling with a link to iTunes, Thanks.

@Jord4n09 This IS an advertisement. Ironically it's challenging the traditional concept of advertisement by using social media just as they described. The short statements, rhetorical questions, and flashy graphics are part of an advertisers rhetoric. They haven't tried to sell you anything, but now you're thinking about social media and may have headed to their site dedicated to that - as intended. Statistics create an apparent objectivity but the effect of the video is still sensationalist.

Wiki is not MORE accurate than an encyclopedia but it is AS accurate. Since there are so many app's that allow one to access Wikipedia, the information is more convenient.
You can research the statistics in this video yourself. Or you can just be like that one guy on family guy who just HAD to tell Peter he was a big fat phony.

Know the sources of the statistics you see. Those presented here have next to no sourcing ... which should be a red flag for any critical thinker. The NLP and pop-ad techno music trak and fast pace is designed specifically to challenge your ability to consciously retain the propaganda presented. Subconscious asssimilation is preferred by advertisers for its resemblance to the way most people process testimonial reviews by peers. Bottom line: you are being tooled. Do not be fooled.

Sure there are no sourcing, and the stats may be off but in general SN has far exceeded the effectiveness of traditional addvertising. And yes we are FF through your commercials. I enjoyed the video, but revolutions come with guillotines. TV, radio, etc., still exist and are also evolving with better technology and content, so where is the revolution? Of course it took TV 13 years to match the numbers that FB generated in 9 months. When TV began to grow, the world pop was less than half of what it is now, TV was an expensive luxury and the world was not wired, but now even the poorest family has a TV set. Your # comparisons lack a baseline and lack common sense.

The only problem with Wikipedia is that it isn't ALWAYS correct, because it's filled out by people... just like you and me. It's useful for getting an introduction to a new topic, but after that you need an "official" publication to make sure that information is correct.
That being said, I used Wikipedia to learn the basics of the information used for my Senior Engineering project.
