@mkl62 @krazykarl0920 that footage was definitely from the 1999 parade because pets.com was one of the most notable failures of the dot com bubble. (it was founded in feb '99, closed nov '00). i don't know why you keep mentioning 1990.

@phoneoperator I typed in the 1990 parade and this came up. Go figure. But I did see the entire 1999 Macy's Parade. I live in South Carolina and the Silver Bluff High Band marched in the parade that year. In 1994, they marched in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Parade.

I think I love you! I am so excited someone has these up. I loved these commercials so much that I bought the talking puppet when I found it at Toys 'R' Us or somewhere like that. I still have it. And, no, I wouldn't part with for anything less than an obscene amount of money, so forget it.

Yes, these ads are absolutely symbolic of the year 1999 in America. Pets dot comm was the poster company for the dot comm revolution (before it turned into a "bubble") and the ads were played everywhere constantly. Seeing them again is like traveling back to the happy times at the end of the 20th century, before the bubble burst, before the 2000 election, before 9/11, before the Iraq war, before the world went mad.
