  • Smooth

  • Best player in the NBA his rookie year straight through till his last game in Chicago...

  • type "short guy dunks" in the youtube search box to see a 5ft 5in guy dunking a 10ft hoop

  • Why are knick fans so myopic? The Knicks sucked in '84 and were a fringe contender in '98. They never beat the Bulls in the playoffs when Jordan was there and haven't won a damn thing since 1973. Yet, there are countless odes to "Jordan's first MSG this or that". How about posting Jordan's first and last BOSTON Garden games, a team that actually mattered for most of Jordan's career, or Detroiit games, a real rival. Hell, even Cleveland was more of a rival.

  • who would win if you put a 98 jordan against an 84 jordan one on one. Of course i go with the 98 jordan, experience. How bout a 92 jordan vs a 97 jordan. that would be a better match up.

  • that dude is so cold

  • mj of 84' vs mj of 98'

  • This is INCREDIBLE. Jordan was revolutionary....his first game in New York 26 years ago, he looked like Kobe Bryant!

  • @clayg80 u mean on skills? because kobe is pretty far behind jordan and indeed is incredible to see this again.

  • @Solanopr indeed

  • @clayg80

He's better than Kobe Bryant! Kobe Bryant tries to be cool but is in NO comparison like Kobe!

  • @clayg80 You mean Bryant looks like Jordan in the 84'...get it straight , homie

  • @MilkoMany suck my dick, homie

  • @clayg80 you mean suck "my" dick, homie... LMFAO

  • @MilkoMany FAIL

  • @clayg80 yeah fail, I was trying to be as stupid as you but I can't

  • @MilkoMany well you definitely got more ghetto, "homie." Go stalk someone else

  • @clayg80 wow, stalking, yeah right... then don't go asking anybody to suck your dick. Dream on faggot, stalking...pssss. bye

  • @clayg80 take your own advice, idiot....please leave me alone; you definitely started fuckin with me first

  • I'll never understand why guys retire when they are still good.

  • @tmac20031 well theyre old. it doesnt matter if ur good. also players look for the best ending to their carreer like dis 1. try playing wen ur old

  • Lebron and Kobe may be kings of basketball...

But Michael Jordan was the god of basketball...

  • amazing

  • I wish Jordan was the playing now, he'd be the absolute best and he'd be scoring over 40 each game

  • @Hinasil he would average 45 points a game in this era

  • damn i was like 9 when he played in the 98 game i remember he had to switch back to the new shoes cus da old ones was hurtin his feet

  • JUST MEEEEN!

  • I dont think his number should retired everywhere however i do think he started a trend of a new style of ball that were now seeing played and is now exemplified in the play of Kobe. there's something to look at in this video tho and it's in the 98 game where he takes the foul and tosses the ball over his head and in. this is something we see great players like kobe and lebron do all the time but to do it TWICE in the same game, as jordan does here is just unbelievable. and it sets him apart.

  • MJ is the best of all time no one else will come close....and i agree with LeBron James that the number 23 should be retired from the NBA....what an honor!!!

  • Greatest athlete ever...

    Greatest basketball player ever....

He is light years above every other

    NBA player.

  • in case you havent heard, the best nba spanish commentator just past away. black dude with a bow tie. andres montes. rest in peace. he made half of spain´s nba fans. holla!

  • I Miss MJ

I Miss The NBA ON NBC

    I Miss RounballRock!!!!

  • air jordan the best if you like jordans and mrsneakers23 is the answer look at some great kicks

  • Amazing! If you like Air Jordans Check out The Sneaker Show

  • The best player in the basketball´s history. Thanks, Jordan.

  • Greatest, plain and simple.

  • hey there, i agree. still miss him playing. just wished he didn't retire in 1993. the bulls would have beaten the celtics' record of 8 championships in a row. k. bryant is my favorite now. enjoy.****

  • Best player ever.

  • the 35 yr old wearing sneakers. who knew. only nba.amazing

  • his hangtime at 1:25.... wow

  • lol once again kncik fans sucking up to star players hoping they will sign with them in the offseason.

  • yeah tough to belive hes actually going to do it.(...LEBRON)

  • I love it.....such grace, and such beauty

  • the second game in this video was a day before my 5th birthday and i remember my dad watching this on TV and its all a blur now but i still remember it

  • man this makes me want to go out and play some ball!

  • if to say that kobe is the nearest to jordan is stupid, to say that kobe is better, is just crazy. mj- g.o.a.t.

  • Sorry to say, but everyone in the NBA today, even LeBron and Kobe are p*ssies if you compare them to MJ. If they were hit like he was driving to the basket everyday, they would mentally break down, they don`t even have a challenge, as a touch foul is called in NBA today.

  • They are put on this piedestal, every call is called, but if you look at MJ how they beat him all the time, they showed him no respect even when he was the best player in the NBA. He set a whole new standard of basketball, and NBA has sunk in it`s standards since him, because they have worse players, they have no choice but to promote them, noone better is there. LeBron is actually closest to MJ, he gets hit frequently, lets just hope he evolves and shows the world he is the new standard.

  • To say that MJ wanted his game to look that good is an overstatement, the way he was treated and the amount of talent he had, he had to make new moves and improvise to get past this tough defense. It wasn`t like he was thinking "Now I am going to float behind the backboard for a reverse layup". He had to do it to make the play, to us it just looked incredible. MJ still the best thanks to the NBA`s standards back in the 80-ies and beginning of 90-ies!

  • jordan destroyed everyone even when he was a rookie

  • the man made the game of basketball beautiful

  • Good call Ref. . . you're only a quarter century too late

  • ROOOOOFL Classic response!

  • MJ: THE GREATEST THERE EVER WAS, THE GREATEST THERE EVER WILL BE. GREATEST OF ALL TIME. He destroyed te Game. For eva MJ

  • In that '98 game, MJ got blisters from wearing that vintage Air Jordan I.

  • MJ at 1:25 is sooo smooth wow!

  • theres michael jordan, and then theres the rest of us

  • Jordan in his prime the best player in the universe. A few imitators, but no duplicators.

  • Man, he's a guy who once he leaves the ground he just seems like he's never coming down.

    Him and Kobe

  • ddamn..nobody can touch his level!

  • A.I.= The Answer

    Kobe= The Truth

    LeBron=The King

    M.J.=The GOD

  • AI=The Answer

    Paul Pierce=The Truth

    Kobe=The Black Mamba

    LeBron=King James

    Michael Jordan=G.O.A.T.

  • @BoneSoldier101

    Michael Jordan = Air

  • @BoneSoldier101 Ray Allen - Sugar Ray, Jesus Shuttlesworth

  • jordan n1

  • That man was truly b 4 his time!!Without a doubt!!!He would shit on kats if he played n 2 days league

  • Rock the cradle, get the fuck out of here!!! His Royal Airness...!!!

This is why Kobe aint no Michael AIR Jordan or even better than HIS AIRNESS!

  • thank u mike for terriffic years withbulls there is no one matching u and no one ever willmatch ulovia big guy alwayzzz letzzzzz go bulls

  • Man, MJ's first game in NY is a show, not just a game!

Young MJ could perform many incredible shots, almost every shot is great

  • I have searched it in google. Its 46 only.

  • OMG @ 1:25 how do u guard that?!

  • You don't.

You just watch and feel good for witnessing such a nice move.

    Hahahahaha!

  • people nowadays get excited and freak out when wade/kobe/tmac/lebron do something unhuman on the basketball court. what people forget is, jordan already did it. every move, every shot, every dunk you see on tv today has been performed and perfected by michael jordan. long live his royal airness..

  • ha i like how he was wearing the Jordan I's in his last game at NY as a bull.

  • 1:25-1:31. SWEET!!!!

  • its like 2 different jordan players but both at the top of their game

  • yerh mike had more vertical than kobe

    kobe = 38 inches

    mike = 44 inches

    i think im not sure..

  • mj 46"

    spud webb 44"

  • yeah i looked up verticle leap of different players years ago, and jordans was more than kobe-i used to watch a lot of Bulls games when i was in the military years ago and the attributes jordan had made any player playing in the league today pale by comparison-there are great players in the league today, but having seen jordan play in his prime, its not even close.

  • If you look up Jordans air flight school he use to put on for youth programs there's a posting on youtube where a kid ask him if he would beat kobe bryant one on one, and Jordan answers in his prime it wouldn't even be close-and that pretty much sums it up. He was that good. The better filming techniques used in todays games compared to these early video allows viewers a more complete viewing of games now days, but having seen Jordan in his heyday, no player in todays game brings it like he did.

  • i like to be like mike

  • 1:54 MAKES IT LOOK SO EASY!!

  • he had on the 1's!!!

  • kobe is nowhere near jordans athleticism. when jordan gets in the air he hangs and his movements are smooth, kobes movements are jerky and fast, and kobe doesnt have the ability to hang and glide through the air.

  • @dv122 Also, Kobe has very good quickness, but he's never been known for his speed. Jordan could blow past guys in the open floor.

  • in his later years mj's midrange jumper and fadeaway was money, and he took alot more of those shots as compared to when he first came into the league. it shows how he changed and adapted to his body.

  • WOW!

  • LOL.. 4 REAL THO..

  • there's wennington with bueschler at 5:15...these guys were popular back then because of MJ...LOL

  • Damn, he did my favorite (best of all-time in my opinion) dunk in his FIRST game in NY? The dunk where it looks like he's walking on air. I get so hype everytime I see it. I'm a crossover to finger-roll baller, but if I could dunk one time it'd be that dunk and I'd be content for life as far as dunking. lol

  • That beat is SICK What is that? It flows so butter when Mike is doing his moves.NICE VIDEO!!!!

  • MJ was MJ from day 1 of his pro career, not like with these cheap imitations the media insists are the next MJ. Going to college for at least 2-3yrs wouldnt hurt either. Plus all these MJ wannabes seem to overllok how MJ didnt chuck 300+3pters per season...If Bron had taken 200fewer3's this yr and taken it to hoop more often instead, hed be hitting 50%+. They all take tooo many 3s.

  • Good points. But most amazing, with no hand-checking, there is literally no way to stop LeBron when he drives. You have to foul him. The fact that he drives half as much as young MJ, and has absolutely no post game tells you a lot about his approach to the game. There's only one MJ.

  • I dig the eerie background music, but I kinda wanted to hear what the sportscasters had to say and their reaction to Jordan, considering this was his first year in the league (1984).

  • why do all the great players bomb on new york?

    sorry knicks fans :(

  • that's real NBA

  • ooohhh these good old times ....

  • My hero.

  • me too

  • The North Carolina dunk v.s. Maryland @1:44

  • Yup, only much better.

  • i remember that 98 game i saw it he is just the master

  • what is the name of the song/beat? thanks

  • if u stop it on 1:35 thers a flash from a camra thats bright as hell

  • lol wtf

  • Those cameras would blind stevie wonder.

  • i like the 70's and 80's hoops for some reason they look easier to shoot in

  • I was at the game in 98. 15 years old. Knicks Fan. He changed my life.

  • people nowadays get excited and freak out when wade/kobe/tmac/lebron do something unhuman on the basketball court. what people forget is, jordan already did it. every move, every shot, every dunk you see on tv today has been performed and perfected by michael jordan. long live his royal airness..

  • Amen to that.

  • The 95-98 Jordan was so efficient. He barely sweats.

  • Jordan must have made a deal with the devil the way he played.

  • ive seen jordan so many times now and i though he couldnt do anything more to amaze me as much as he has... man he proved me wrong!

  • Love his rookie style, so raw and exciting

  • never get bored of watchin this hoops! one of your best posts! music is class, forgot how good this post was!

  • Jordan and Kobe are great players. Jordan by far is the better player and Kobe has a chance to go down as a top 5 player from his own era. Jordan should be compared to Shaq and Duncan who are the only leaders with multi-championships. Read my channel description. I guarantee you that it teaches you more about the game and the history of MJ and the history of Kobe.

  • it's remarkable to see how his game changed in a 6 min. video.

  • ?Why he still dressed in Bulls in the last game?

  • that cradle dunk off a steal will forever be an nba moment.tnx 4 d awesome vids hoops.mj 4lyf.

  • man jordan was a beast. there will never be another like him

  • never will be such a player as Jordan...

  • try kobe...lol

  • jus kidd'n....MJ is the next best thing to Jesus!!

  • jesus! i had to replay the play at 1:24 to make sure it wasn't in fast forward. he shook my eyeballs out of the sockets

  • god in a pair of nikes

  • your awesome hoops!!!

  • Whoever put this together I just wanna say thank you.... Seein' MJ rockin' the garden in the I's was something I havnt seen in a while. Thanks for your time putting that together.

  • He was a GOD!

  • NICE VID AND NICE SOUNDTRACK

  • legend

  • looks like hes wearin jordan 1's in both games

  • yea..on the 1st on cuz they were new n he had to promote them, but on the second he kne it was gonna b his last game in NY so he wanted to wear those shoes again..

  • im a mac user and i am having no problems. awesome video by the way

  • pleaaaaaseeeeee mj come back!!!!I wanna see that again!!!

  • i dont kno i have an xp and i cant even see the video in both my computers i dont kno whats wrong if anyone can help me figure it out contact me because this is my favorite jordan video.

  • No, it's working fine, although I think I used to have a problem.

  • mac users, are you having trouble watching this video, i can't watch it anymore for some reason, and this is my fave

  • Dude, I love it when you put music to the videos. Seeing this, I only wish I were born earlier to see Jordan in the 80's.

  • was the first dunk a travel?

im asking so im not saying it was

  • Nope.

  • the 84 game is one of my favourite games yet. his craddle dunk is one of my favourite when it comes to his best dunks. look at 0:56 the way he shoots the ball..just crazy, he was so raw and freakin atheletical, and yet so refined at the same time, it just amazes me the elegance of his plays

  • Micheal Jordan never played against the Knicks while he was with the Wizards.

  • Of course he did. This was the first and last game while he was with the Bulls.

  • thanx. I meant to end the wizards sentence with a ? mark.

  • Yeah, he had some great games against the Knicks as a Wiz. A buzzer beater at MSG for the and a 39 point game in his very last visit. I was at the buzzer beater game. All of us NY fans here were in the subway shaking our heads talking about it for hours.

  • cool, he was the best i dont know how people compare Kobe to him. Kobe is amazing on offence but nobody, and i mean NOBODY pushed his defender as hard as MJ. You'll never see Kobe posting up a player or doing anything with the style that MJ had.

  • Hoops, retitle this video. It's 1984, bot 1986. You of all people should have recognized this by now

  • Thanks. I never caught that until now - fixed.

  • hey blaman, stfu and calm down bitch hoops is entitled to make a mistake if he did at all bastard, what in the fuck have you contributed to this bitch be glad hoops puts up these videos at all bitch

  • Zopoundsakpase, I appreciate Hoops' contribution to the advancement of Jordan's legacy more than anyone on here. It's important that the casual viewer know at first glance that this video contains footage from his rookie year, quite possibly his most spectacular year from an aesthetic standpoint. There are only 3 other games on youtube from his rookie year so far, making it that much more important. And by the way, fuck you for even commenting on that. Chill the fuck out.

  • no you chill the fuck out bitch ass blaman you're the dumb fuck bring up little petty bullshit errors email hoops in private or some shit and ask it to be fix to try to upstage motherfuckers got punk bitch, shit get your own jordan videos and make the corrections pussy

  • Wow, you have a quite a command of the english language

  • regardless of his command of the english language he has a point.

  • This is testament to his change of style. It shows how he compensated with the loss of his vertical by still maintaining his body control. Wait is that the same Allan Houston that scored 50+ on Kobe. Yes, it is. 5*

  • 3.16 classic jordan23

  • Simply the greatest..period!

  • what is the song name in this

  • Dj Shadow - Hindsight

  • Well he was from North Carolina so he might have gone their anyways. The high school thing was actually for his school's varsity team as a freshman, but still...

  • He always gotta play gret at Madison Square Garden

  • not to mention Reggie Miller (no thnx to Spike Lee...HAHA)

  • At 4:38 makes him a GOD!!!!

  • At 3:58 is the sickiest fake i've seen. The slither!

  • yeah, your are right. that made me out of sit.

  • No one plays like this man.

  • MJ = Unbelievable. Throwing in ridiculous shots and having the Garden crowd in his palm at age 21 and 35. And the fact that he broke out the original Air Jordan 1's for his last game as a Bull in NYC (and lit it up) is just plain sick.

  • MJ is the best everrrr. NO ONE IS EVEN CLOSE. Great video. The back turn and flip into the basket is just sick. When the announcer said that the officials were laughing that was priceless. Everyone enjoyed MJ and what he meant to the game. He is a once in a LIFETIME TALENT.

  • oh wow! thanks Hoops for this clips. MJ is simply the best.

  • O.M.G! This is unreal. Jordan was moving at a totally different speed than the rest of the league! It doesn't even look NATURAL! The crossover/fadeaway he does at 1:24, that was UNHEARD OF for 6'6 in the NBA back then! He is undisputed the G.O.A.T.

  • Wow! I forgot what type of game he had when he was younger and new to the NBA. Absolute animal! And as an veteran just as deadly..rebound @ 2:29 awesome!...move on Houston @ 4:00...SICK!! Definitely a move you see Kobe using...footwork is crazy!

  • He PWNSSSSS

  • Loved that down low courtside camera angle you used to get for MSG knicks games back in the 80s. I don't know why you don't see TV games from that camera angle much anymore.

  • Yo Hoops your the Man!! Keep postin really really appreciate these vids of the phenom himself.

  • HHAHHAHAHAHHHAAHHAHHA "the graphics are terrible"

  • I have the 98 game on tape at home. He wore the 1s for that. MJ always loved Madison square garden. When he played there on the NBA on NBC. Those games were the best.

  • are u fucking retarted???? u idiot this is not fuckin graphics its the picture qulity

gosh some ppl are so fuckin retarted

    and this qulitiy is shit..

  • this is great and all but the graphics are terrible
