Even the content of the second opening is incredibly cheap- not a single piece of new high-quality opening animation was used, instead opting for budget shots from the anime itself and reusing assets from the initial opening.

@doctabaldhead When it comes to giant robot series(Which he happens to hate, ironically enough) Imagawa's work is excellent. Getter Robo had all of these twists and mysteries lined up, and they topple it down just as he starts to unravel them.

I bet he would have had Musashi survive, too.

I have watched quite a bit of his better stuff since we started this whole thing so i have to concede that this show probably would have turned out better if they just let he do his own thing with it.

Killing off Musashi has become a bit of a tradition by this point so it would have been sort of neat to let him live for once.

@doctabaldhead G Gundam was awesome. Shut the fuck up. But even then, the concept of G Gundam was forced onto him due to money hungry Sunrise executives. They basically canned all of his designs for the show, and even though he himself thought it was terrible idea, he actually made the show better than what it was by introducing the dark gundam and a decent plot to it.

@Getterzinger The plot was predictable, convoluted and terrible without a single surprising twist in the whole thing.

The Devil Gundam, Master Gundam, the Shuffle Alliance and the God Gundam were really cool mechs but most of the other mechs were really stupid ideas simply made up to sell toys.

The whole thing was pretty much a cash in on the super robot craze at the time that failed to do anything interesting with concept.

I loved the show when i was a kid but it hardly holds up for me today.

If you were actually surprised by anything in G Gundam i feel deeply sorry for you.

The other series were not so transparent about being a toy commercial and seemed to put entertainment value ahead of having the main character fight a different brightly colored transforming enemy every week.

Of course it is a goddamn super robot show that one is not even worth arguing about its just a super robot show with karate elements.

@bosoho Shin Getter's plainly more powerful. Sure, 001 is "bigger", but it lacks real power. Besides,the size of the Evas constantly change every other scene anyway, which just proves how shitty of an anime that whole series really is. They can't even be consistent with something as simple as the size of their titular robot ffs. Not surprising, considering the ENTIRE storyline isn't consistent itself anyway. Then there's the way it ends: Shinji becomes a real faggot, everyone dies. Retarded.

In SRW@, Shin Getter at 10% power was already sufficent in completely obliterating the Angel-possessed EVA-03. Even Dummy Plug EVA-01 completely shut itself down in Shin's presence. EVA's scared of Shin.

The most insane Getter, no, insane robot I've ever seen is the Shin Getter Dragon. The original Shin Getter from Ken Ishikawa's manga could morph into its forms as opposed to the airplanes thing, but Shin Dragon takes it to a whole other level!

Yeah I hate how they never have the Armageddon storyline present in SRW aside from D. It had the best theme and the best look for the characters so its a shame they do not use them more often. Same with Mazinkaiser, but at least he is in most of the new games.

This is based on the manga, not connected to the kid-friendly Getter Robo and Getter Robo G TV shows.

The New Getter Robo OVA is more accurate as to Ryoma and Hayato's personalities and such in the manga.
