@buffguy86 I'm not Catholic so I'm not positive on the terms but she doesn't have the same outfit because she's a "nun in training" so to speak. She hasn't taken her vows and committed herself completely to the life yet. Another way of putting it would be that she's doing an internship right now. Thus the different uniform.

[the order they're supposed to be] ... their dresses are the wrong color.True black & white are common- but NEVER for Carmelites [BROWN dress w black veil]... Benedictine would be more believable. plus- real nuns probably wouldn't be acting... they'd be too busy praying or helping others [they work too!] :D

I like the way that they jazzed up the song without being disrespectful to it. Obviously a lot of younger people at that time had begun to abandon the faith that they grew up in because they found it outdated. I'm Protestant, but I love how delightfully irreverent film was. The process where Mary Clarence takes over the choir showcases beautifully both the stately beauty of a hymn, and the more fun, free-spirited, wholeheartedness that worship can be, at the same time. Church doesn't have to be boring.
