  • what did u do with the meat?besides that great vid best one i seen on dis kinda stuff

  • How do you tan stuff?

  • I love this setup here. Could you please inform me of how long that bow is? How about draw weight? I was looking to make a bow that would fit well into a fox i just skinned and tanned but all mine are to long! My only worry is that I don't think a bow as short as yours appears would be adequate for my 31" draw. I have a tendency to over draw short bows and have broke two in the past...Oops. Thanks for all your hard work. Hope you can help me!

  • @papaninjasam research sinew back bows of the California Indians, if you want more draw weight, this is a short flat bow with little draw weight for hunting rabbits and small game and used for educational purposes with kids so they can feel what is like to shoot a native bow.

  • @LivingHistorySchool Thank you for such a fast reply! I will look into that.

  • @Need4Wilderness thanks..glad you like it

Oh just hush and stop being angry in every direction, you're just being annoying and loud on the internet because you're bored and wanted some attention, i don't mind really, i'm just as bored but not quite as angry it seems.

Just remember, trolling is a art.

  • @theoreticalparachute speaking of trolls did you see that that homo on your channel?

  • Man, in a zombie uprising..i want to be in YOUR team haha. these are awesome videos thank you greatly. i've been toying with the idea of making such things for a while and this has swung me to do it. thanks

  • @Hardrada88 glad to hear that..

  • THATS SO SICK i want a wolf quiver

  • @bhunter217 First of all that would be highly illegal and cruel. Even if you were in a life or death survival situation I would suggest that the risk would be too high and your bullets might do you better shooting a rabbit or other small game.

  • More like a whole fox quiver!

  • Very nice m but i tell you what you wouldnt want to wear that around ur neck around here.. stupid arss city hunters would end up shooting you lol.

  • hmm, on the one hand you have done a fantastic job on the taning but im not to thrilled about the over all quiver, i just think it could have been done better, it looks awkward with the sting landing halfway up the bag and i guess the fact that its a string. with a wider strap, move down the tie point, cut and resew the legs if your hell bent on having the strap attached there. i dont know, just my suggestions. great bow and fantastic leather. thanks for the video

  • @kaleb4444

this is how it was done from ethnographic information, the strap is also a spare bow string, the bow and arrows weight very little

  • @LivingHistorySchool fare enough, that makes sence. well you seem to be doing it fine your method, im just saying id probably do it different. that however is of no consiquence to you. you still did a good job of it this way though.

  • @LivingHistorySchool it would be cool to see a shooting vid

  • niiiiice bow

  • @12fig

    yes I know too much

  • do you do classes or something!?!

i wanna be your apprentice or something i wanna learn everything and perfect it!

  • @bhunter217

not much, I use it to teach kids, if it was sinew backed I'm sure it would be pretty good

  • Very nice! Looking forward to the shooting video.

  • i laughed so i hard when i saw arrows up that foxes ass

  • Hey nice fox skin man, do you have a video on how to tan the hide?

    Kind regards

  • Wow, astonishing quiver! Kind of looks like the arrows are up its rear end, but if that's how they were made historically, fascinating to see! Also, a rawhide string must be a nightmare in changeable weather - does it not shrink and stretch constantly? I've used a linen string, and that's bad enough. Very impressive.

  • @hobbes987987 use nylon string or spin tons of cotton thread together

  • how come the wood never breaks? i always dont get it

  • @bunny153649

because it's yew wood it's strong and flexible

  • This fox is the weapon of truth? was that you hunted? you already hunted other foxes? after you hunt what do you do with skin? you sell or the use of his family, for example, his wife, daughters, etc. ..?

  • @skemaprof

I used it to make the quiver.

  • Wow that bow is beautiful I would love to make one like that nit sure if we have yew wood trees here in manitoba or not is there another tree that would be good for bow making?

  • @winnipegdiver

check with your local history/anthropology ethnobotany books to see what your local tribe used

  • @LivingHistorySchool hey nerd..great bow yew is the best

  • @LivingHistorySchool YES IE SEEN QUIVERS MADE FROM BOBCAT PELTS

  • the fox looks silly lol but cool

  • Quivers disgusting.

  • poor fox...

  • that quiver is beautiful

  • @TheBrownRaven

its so I don't have to keep restringing it all the time

  • @TheBrownRaven

because I let little kids shoot it on field trips

  • nice stuff, beautiful craftsmanship.

  • that is sweet man Nice!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • approx 3.5 feet by 3

  • Nice bow,quiver and arrows!

    Good job.

  • nice, i also trap, and also made a quiver out of a grey

  • You have some very interesting videos Scott. I bet you'd survive before most others would if civilization broke down. God bless.

  • great stuff,

  • Yes , I know ishi . Obviously not personally , but have read on him . Iv'e seen a few painted west coast Indian bows in meusems , they are short and wide . They paint thiers though . My snakeskin bow is pulling only 55 # .

  • Do you know the draw weight of your bow ? If kids are shooting it it shouldn't be more than 45 # , im assuming .

  • yes it's less than 45# nice bow you made...like the snake skin... have you seen many cal. indian bows...they are short and wide

  • do you know who Ishi is?

  • That is a beautiful bow . Iv'e worked Yew in the past , made some short sinew-backed ones , never saw color like that . Quiver is excellent as well . Nice arrows man . Good job

  • Thanks ...my bow is mainly for kids to shoot on field trips, I also have a deer skin cape and stuffed deer head for kids to wear so they can dress up like the deer which was the way native people here in Oregon hunted.

  • Thank you
