We live just down the road from the Balmoral KFC. People are constantly dunping their KFC trash on the road. It would be nice if people weren't such pigs but there's nothing we can do about that. Putting in a McDonalds is just going to make it worse.
Being in the same street as the KFC which is open till midnight is enough. The litter down the road and idiots who enjoy throwing and leaving their waste down the street is left for the residents to pick up as KFC also neglect their responsibilities to keep the area clean. Wiremu street is a quiet street and Balmoral does not need a MC D's here.Keep the drinkers in town and the access to food outlets close. This also encourages drinking and driving to get a feed. Stop it happening.
Because Balmoral is a fair way out of the CBD, it seems a more accurate prediction of what balmoral Mc'ds will be like would be to have a look at Royal Oak Mc'ds at 2am (from my experience it's not that bad)
It seems choosing Great North Rd is a bias choice as it is very close to the CBD.
I'm not arguing for or against the building, just arguing its best to have an accurate idea of what will happen before a decision is made.
Well i have been there and have to say I have seen it pretty bad as well. People hanign in the carparks and around the area yelling and throwing crap all over. I think the difference here is there is a larger confined area due to pak n save, wendys and the royal oak mall. Wiremu street does not have that area. ONly houses. Green lane is in fact worse the Great north road and that is out of town to. But not close to housing.
Lucky theres no Maccas or KFC where I live or the place will turn into a shithole

Don't put one in a residential area.

I hope Mc Donalds get denied resource consent. Good luck with your campaign.
