Hmm, depends what he's into. If he likes music and he has an ipod i would suggest an itunes gift card. Maybe something for a video game system? Or something fun for halloween!
At that age, i think guys are interested in video games, sports or music. So if he's all about gaming, you can buy him a new video game :) If he cannot live without music get him a cd or if you have money, a new ipod :)

Art I would say get them that perfect art supply thing (or if you're good at art make them a painting or drawing of something they like or of them). Pretty much just think of what they are interested in and go from there :D A watch, cologne, or a gift card are the basic gifts if you don't know what to get them. Maybe a hat :)
