  • They rock! Even if you don't know their music, you are up and dancing :) Saw them many moons ago, around this time in South Florida!

  • I was on Horde Tour From 94-99 I was at that Show That Was a Good Show

  • I'm kinda sorta friends with Popper. I got to party with him a couple nights before a show we played together. Awesome dude, one hell of a musician.

  • this man is reason they should of made a Harmonic Hero game......

  • good lord

  • Thumbs up if you're a cellist and came here to hate this song because it's a Pachelbel's "Canon in D" rip off :D

  • @Allroundmoviemaker

Haha, pretty small group of people you're looking for there

  • @Allroundmoviemaker I doubt this chord progression is supposed to be only used in Canon, although I did notice it :)

  • @Allroundmoviemaker why dont you go fag off somewhere else, lots of chord progressions get recycled

  • no kidding music today lacks two things heart and talent.

  • John Popper is the Hendrix of the harmonica.

  • its sad how real talent isnt mainstream anymore

  • I love this song so much :)

  • I miss this band.. music was less plastic then

  • This is truly one of the greatest songs ever; a song that actually says my lyrics say whatever the heck I want but you'll still listen because I'm a badass basically. Never thought I could be impressed by a harmonica until I heard Popper.

  • Great song!

  • apparently one of 13 harmonica virtuosos on this earth. amazing talent

  • 24 harmonica players are really jealous

  • @StringandMembrane Seriously, WTF?

  • 'It doesn't matter what I say, as long as I sing with inflection.' Every YouTube comment ever. This song is the fucking truth and that's just the first line! Sukitinsukitinsukitin

  • Popper is king

  • Popper rocks!!!!!!

  • why are all you people saying this sucks? wtf???

  • @maxsilbert My guess is it's a harmonica joke. I can only hope.

  • And in life, John popper always sucks.

  • Its like life sometimes you blow sometimes you suck

  • @ladylion1977 Quoted from the Man himself...love u John

  • Justin Beiber wrote this song. John Pooper ripped it off. Praise the name of Beiber.

  • @portcityperson shut up

  • @portcityperson Fah Q!!!

  • People keep telling me I look like John Poper...

    I don't see any resemblance

  • @TheArchangel42 you do look like him a tad bit in your videos.

  • The bass player died in 99' from a drug overdose, considering how fucked up he was here I'm not surprised

  • @nosky0108 ...thats such a shame.....

  • I was RE-introduced to this song a couple days ago on a local station and I was like WOW I haven't heard this song in ages! so I look it up to listen again cause it's a great song and now I feel so old! can't believe this is from '98!!

  • That bassist is stoned.

  • Comment removed

  • @kintar90 On the "Run Around" video that was recorded just prior to this at the same concert, he's actually smokin' a budJ during the recording. And the other guitarist is wired on something else, he can't stand still...

  • The hook really does bring you back

  • 90's Music was the BEST

  • i aint telln u no lie

  • live sounds great :)

  • 21 people gaveno soul

  • haha, the bassplayer really is the living embodiment of enthusiasm xD

  • @AilurLuca lol thats wut i was thinking

  • that bass player is hammering down over there

  • i can play the beginning solo on my harmonica i learned it by watching this video

  • putz, o cara é foda... oO'

  • So damn good.

  • Oh, for the days when people made good music and didnt have to dance around onstage to distract people from how bad the music sucked....

  • @korruptx You mean like the Stones or Jethro Tull ? LOL! I know what you mean!!

  • @korruptx This song was made during the height of boy band popularity.

  • @korruptx I couldnt have said it any better. Very True!!!!!!!!!

  • john popper: the only man who can make you play air-harmonica

  • @AndThenThereWere11

    Ok you totally got me.

  • John Popper plays the harmonica like Jimi Hendrix played the guitar. You are actually hearing perfection.

  • bass player is stoked

  • love blue traveler

  • He killed it on that harmonica! WOW

  • This makes me feel good.

  • 3:39 does he say titties?

  • Comment removed

  • @nFanMephisto .. yes, he does

  • @nFanMephisto ive always wondered that when i hear this song im glad im not the only one

  • @nFanMephisto "ditties"

  • que bello, me trae muchos recuerdos de los 90!

  • god he was fucking huge back then.....talent comes in all sizes

  • bass sounds killer on the vocal solo

  • awsome, been listening to this for years, the first RAP, but back then it took talent

  • one of my favorite songs of ALL-TIME!!

  • It doesn't matter what you say, as long as you say it with inflection! I will forever admire you John Popper from Princeton High School in New Jersey. You John Popper and the guy Chan Kinchla who I attended High School with for a couple years are great inspirations!

  • Great performance.

  • You don't get music this good from the Alliance...

  • @jyanixbach lol

  • Popper just raped you with that harmonica. I mean... DAMN.

  • And that bassist is killing it!

  • I get chills every time I hear this song...so, so good. Heartfelt music. Love it.

  • saw them twice once on ssshhhrrrooooooommmmsssssssssssssswwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeettttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the bassist is rrriiipppppeeeddd :-) awesome

  • @srcarpen11 He was indeed, and he ultimately paid the price. Very sad, because he was one of the best.

  • @srcarpen11 Sadly, it's rather likely that the bassist, Bobby Sheehan, is drugged out of his head. Nearly to the day a year after this, he died of an OD.

  • Love it

  • love this song/album....but this guitar player is distracting.

  • Blues Traveler will be doing a free concert in downtown Orlando THIS weekend, sponsored by the radio station, WMMO!!

  • @madyb194 I missed it >.> was gonna go but had to cancel last minute.

    FML.

  • they played at my time a loooong time ago, there amazing live.

  • @Floydian6973 I am really curious as to what instrument you thought it was?

  • God, why don't we have guys like this in France ?!

  • Had a moment today and realized this was Pachelbel's Cannon in D Major. Weird.

  • @MellowCello61 Which, if you listen to the lyrics, is THIS song's 'Hook'.

'Because the hook brings you back/I ain't tellin' you no lie

The hook brings you back/On that you can rely'

  • i sooooooooooooo wish i knew they came to the area that day......they only played like 30 minutes away from me :(

  • john poper es un genio

  • just realized i've been schooled all along by the lyrics. ha

  • God, John Popper is freakin awesome

  • @livershot thats fuckin rediculous the blues traveler is awesome. wheres your band playing tonight??? thats what i thought?

  • @livershot What ails you boy?

  • John Popper is a beast. The bass player is pretty bad ass too. He looks so stoned when he plays live.

  • @devonwardkelley14 The bassist (Bobby Sheehan) was in all likelihood blasted out of his mind. He died from an apparent overdose of cocaine, valium and heroin just over a year after this video was shot. His death really beat up Popper who was good friends with him of course. That's when Popper really put on the weight topping out at well over 400lbs and needing to be wheeled out to perform before he had gastric bypass surgery and a crap-ton of psychiatric help.

  • @lacquerheadTX

That's crazy. Thanks for the info man.

  • Great song. He no longer carries that vest w/ the harmonicas cause he lost weight. He changes key very fast w/ all those. Heuses peddles now

  • Great song.

  • That harmonica solo is just soooo fucking godlike..

    Props to Popper!

  • Love this song!

  • where was paul shaffer?

  • love this, what a great song

  • john is awsome!! One of my favorite bands. I know he's not big anymore but have you noticed that most big boys with a personality like john's have a lot of talent and are often very funny (remember John candy RIP) We love you John!!!

  • guitar player ruins it

  • Absolut GEIL.

I could tell that you appreciate quaility from the feel of your post. Guten tag!

  • John Popper my friends is a true master. Pay close attention to this, and enjoy, you won't see anything like it again

  • The first few seconds he sings he sounds like Peter griffin haha

  • oh, cause he's fat.oh.

  • @capncrutch69 haha! im goin to hear peter g everytime i hear this song. thanks you've ruined it for me but i t makes me smile so maybe the song is just recycled

  • @capncrutch69 haha the whole song sounds like peter griffin!

  • @capncrutch69 he looked like peter griffin back then

  • hahaaaa love the Bass player,,,,just looks like a cool headed dude..

  • @BigEasy2979 R.I.P. Bobby :-(

    he was awesome

  • Popper for president!!!!!!!!! gotta do a better job than the present and former

  • John Popper is one of the few musicians that I actually prefer the live versions to the studio recordings. Everything from his harp playing to his vocals are not only more complex, but also smoother and with SO much more emotion than the recordings.

Other artists that have this effect for me are Simon and Garfunkel, and Muse (different era, but Matt Bellamy is flawless live.)

  • @ElDLo and pearl jam and zeppelin in my opinion

  • @mikehowton707 Yes and Yes.

  • @ElDLo What mikehowton707 said

  • Sooo AWesome!!!!! ;)

  • Popper rocks! by the way define blues you ignorant asshole, Only idiots judge music by its "catagory" which is generally defined by idiots who like to place artists into nice neat little groups so its easier for their little brains to sort and keep track of the said entities they criticize. If your good enough for the soundtrack of Kingpin wtf do you want?

  • Princeton High School Alumni right here....

  • this is a funny blues from serbia. . .watch this watch?v=5avEBJWnDM0

  • this song is pretty old but everytime i hear it its still freagin awesome and its a really good blend of genres of music not many people can pull this off

  • Harmonica Hero !!!!

  • totally awesome dude

  • Amazing, Period...

  • 2:30 Insane solo :)

  • I am so impressed with this song..now for 25 years without skipping a day! Emotions of love, some tears like driving a convertible, the feeling you can concur the world with a smile..it's got it all and yes..it will be underestimated and yes..that's why it hits all ignorant people like a freighttrain of love..

  • @cireboers UGH.. the songs only 12 years old ! As for the rest... UGH ??

  • @mrstevehartman Is see I mistyped the number. I bought the cd in '96 when I was in Philadelphia, so 14 years..Thanks ugh :)

  • @cireboers Thatz OK. Wi all make miztakez !

  • Ahhhh I miss the days when musicians had talent.

  • @kroyster21 I signed into Youtube just to give your comment a thumbs up xD So true!

  • @kroyster21 Musicians still have talent, you just have to listen to the right music. Like Amon Amarth Machine Head. Love this song.

  • I really love this guy's voice... I wouldn't wanna be quoted saying 'anybody would lose their wind' though without playing one long note. Progression and variation through different songs and such is important; otherwise a musical ear can pick out the same pattern in every song from this to th Lynyrd Skynyrd cover w metallica. =) But then again he does change keys. =)

  • i WAS AT THISNCONCERT AND I CRIED LMAO...FOR REALS

  • I've heard some good harmonica solos but this is one of the best

  • he doesnt sing or play into the microphone he makes love to it

  • John Popper is amazing - I know he's got skills and did the best solo on the studio recording, of course. But honestly...what the crap was he playing in that harmonica solo? It barely sounded like the original. I'm not bashing on him, just confused on why he didn't play it anywhere near the same...

  • @jmr1068204 @jmr1068204 It's called "improv". ;-P A lot of bands do improv in live performances, but BT is one of the most infuriating and/or captivating in this regard, because their live performances HARDLY sound like their studio albums. On one hand, it's great to see and hear what kind of variations to their songs they can do. On the other hand, since crowd singalongs are crucial to live performances & because BT improvises so much, it doesn't give audiences much chance to do just that.

  • @storyofcory

Because performances should totally be about the artist belting out the exact same thing over and over until they're so bored with it that it loses all feeling. <sarcasm.

Pff, I'd MUCH rather improv that still has a feeling. There are plenty other musicians you can go sing along with. Lady Gaga... Britney Spears... ... Metallica... tons of others, too ~_~ take your pick.

  • HORDE FESTIVAL!

  • legend

  • I love this song!!

  • oh no...someone glued the bass players feet to the stage o.0

  • love this guy

  • best harmonica player I've ever known
