  • Im from the UK and travelled to New Zealand wher I now live. THe prices of food/drinks at aiports are disgusting.

Surely someone could make some big bucks inventing some cheap/economy prices convenience airport stores?

I mean come on, I was charged $8 for a bloody sandwich.

  • That sucks. What's even worse is that in Killington Ski Resort, I was charged $8 for just a few pieces of chicken tenders, and it's not healthy at all...there's lots of unhealthy oils and high cholesterol.

  • Yeh its a joke. Those greedy corporations always want more more more. i hope they get bombed one day.

  • Agreed, they are indeed greedy. Whenever I enter such places, I usually have plans as an effort to avoid buying expensive, unhealthy foods. So the lesson is, eat and drink well and enough right before you enter such places!!

  • Yeh thats true. Unfortunately in airports you reguarly need something to eat and are forced to buy shitty unfullfulling over priced fancy crap.

I only ever see 'suits' walking around the snooty shops in airports as well.

Tacky, horrible places. People just want a decent, filling meal which deosnt cost an arm and a leg to buy.

  • You know, it's not only airports that are overcharging innocent customers for "cheap" foods. If you go to amusement parks, theaters, concert halls, stadiums, etc., prices are like a rip off! I remember in Killington Ski Resort, a simple small bowl of soup was $7 (as of December 2007)!

  • Oh I know man tell me about it, I'm with you all the way.

I think it was at one Woodstock music festival.....the whole place got trashed because everyone had had enough of waiting to use the water fountains and having to pay for over priced water....everything got destroyed...vending machines the lot.

    Made me smile.

  • Agree with you, When I was in Cancun all was more expensive even when I was in Buenos Aires

  • Where in Cancun did you stay? Last time I went to Cancun, in July 2008, I stayed at Moon Palace, which is a huge resort hotel where I got free food and drink, just because that was included in the price of staying at the resort. But in the airport food court, the drink prices are just ridiculously high.

Also, in Europe, everything is more expensive than the United States, due to the crazy economy.

However, I heard that the economy is better in the Central America than the USA

  • iv ben there no how u fell fucking crazy prices for a bag of chips its like 7 dollers u fucking mex make like 1 in the us for working all day long lol.

  • I partially agree with you the fact that the prices are crazy at Cancun Airport but could you rephrase the sentence? Plus, I was only a tourist in Mexico; I went to Cancun as a tourist for fun.

  • Plus im suprised theres an American thats actually left America and even more suprising, one that holds a passport, i commend your adventourous nature...

  • JFK airport charged me nearly $12 for a mcdonalds, over here thats nearly £7 which is way over priced and even small aiports such as Zante airport (which is greece for anyone who wasnt sure) charged me £3 ($6) for a bottle of coke. ANd for a final note, the Uk economy is crazy becuase of American mortgage companies, i dont know the details i just know thats the reason.

  • These are airport prices, they only charge that much because they know they can because where else are you going to get food and drink from? In the UK its like £10 for a breakfast in an airport, thats nearly $20.

  • First of all, not all airport prices are crazy. It's just Cancun Airport that's like that. Atlanta Airport and Cincinnati Airport, has regular food and drink prices, as far as I know. I heard that UK's economy is crazy now, compared to USA. When I went to Italy last April, everything (not just airports) were extremely expensive.

  • Well excuse me, Americans come to Cancun for fun. This is called Tourism. We stay at resorts, like Moon Palace, so they just give us free food and drink because the food/drink price was included in the price we paid to stay there. WE, THE AMERICANS HAVE THE RIGHT TO COME TO CANCUN, SO IF YOU ARE HERE TO SPAM, THEN DON'T BOTHER COMMENTING HERE!!

  • so do you know gray line tranfers? i work there as cashier.. what do you think about the price..

i always wanted ask about the cost..

  • I don't know Gray Line Transfers. Is it a supermarket? I am from the United States, close to New York City. The drinks usually cost about $1 - $3 (USD) per bottle, depending on where I buy it.

  • lol no..is the company who sales

the taxis.. when you go outside..

one of the rates is >>>moon palace cost= 50usd..one way!!!

  • yeah is expensive.. but almost all the employes here at the airport in cancun buy at the same price.. and of course we aren`t rich and at the downtown all the articles has their normal price.. right?? saludos desde cancun..perdon por la ortografia.

  • Actually, places like Cancun Airport, Six Flags, Killington Ski Resort, and many other travel related places charge innocent people a lot for each food/drink so that they can make profit. But supermarkets sell foods and drinks cheap and still make good profit.
