I can't wait to get dementia. Today I was told by an old guy that I looked Scandinavian and I had a Scandinavian accent, even though I was born in England and have lived here all my life and I clearly don't sound Scandinavian.
Dementia is just an excuse to say random shit to strangers and I can't wait to get it.
@RichyBMelodies yaaa who told you that..? late stages of dementia takes away all your personality and thoughts. now if you call that a "high" pretty sure that would get a little old after 5+ years
Am I right to be pissed off at God due to my poor grandmother having dimentia. She praid everyday of her life and ends up with this shit. My only fear is no life after death. Kills me to think someone like her is going to deteriorate away, but before she does, a few years of suffering. She can't say she's thirst, hungry, nothing. The people there that are supposed to be taking care of them dont give a single fuck eather.
this lady Sharon Snir wrote an inspirational book on how to deal with family members with dementia. i highly recommend watching her youtube video. its called:
"Looking For Lionel-How I Lost and Found my Mother through Dementia"
my grandmother died from this on Feb 25.... its horrible to watch.... without the Delaware Hospice, I don't know how we would have gotten through this...
@urtube2k9 go to hell sir. i hope one day you really get it. i've known people with form of dementia, it's no joking matter and frankly i think is worse than cancer.
@XxColdFusionxX - Man some ppl can't take a joke.Yes ur right i probally will,i fucked my brain up by taking to much acid and smoking weed,so ur probally right
The ice floe reference; the Eskimos would take grandma or grandpa out and set them on an ice floe at the 'right time'. Sounds harsh, but the person being put on the floe probably put their parents on a floe. There must be some acceptance based on that, and it's certainly no more harsh than what the medical profession did to my grandmother. I think I'd rather have be put on the ice floe.
i am 14 years old, i have live in england for 12 years but last year my family and i decided to move to denmark to care for our grandma and live with her, she is forgetting more and more. it is hard to live with her but its good to know that we are helping.
@magnusrulz : Talk to your parents about a naturopathic approach. I placed one on my channel. I will leave it post for another week, then I will remove it.
OMFG you think they would show some discretion with the god damn adverts. YouTube, you are - whether you like it or not - a public service broadcaster. Where people are dealing with life changing issues and are vulnerable... DO NOT IMPOSE ADVERTS
I recently worked in a dementia ward as part of my prac, it was a horribly depressing place. To those caring for dementia patients you are amazing people.
1 in 10 use hospice because they are so rude and want to take over your home and life.Trust me I have first hand experience as I'm the sole care-giver to my late stage mother.
This news story is ridiculous. One doesn't die from dementia, so to speak, it is a final stage in life. People forget that death is inevitability and that no matter how much medicine or treatment one can receive one will eventually expire. Although dementia is taxing on the family, it is a, somewhat, natural way to die. You go out the same way you come in. talking gibberish and shitting your pants in a stroller. It is tough but natural. Considering how long people are living now. But then again.
that's fairly true, but dementia is a cause of death since it is a syndrome consisting of multiple diseases- Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Lewy Body, etc. Dementia causes death because it causes brain cells to be killed off, so while it is affecting the memory by causing memory cells to die, it also causes other places in the brain to be affected and cell's to die off, such as parts that control major organs.
my grandpa was diagnosed with senile dementia last year
