Yeah, I was debating just starting off with an EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 for its sheer versatility and then upgrading later to the 24-70mm f/2.8L because of the f/2.8 or the 24-105mm f/4L when a 7D Mark II or 5D Mark III comes out. We'll see. Did you get your lens off Ebay or some other site?
Do you mind telling me how much you got it off eBay for? I'm in the market, so I'm just looking for an idea of what a "good price" is on that lens, even used. Oh and how is it shooting with the 60D? It's the same camera I have, but I didn't get the kit lens with it. Thanks, man!
@pinoysrule88 I paid $900 for the lens. It looks absolutely flawless. Shooting with it on the 60D is great, although there is slight distortion at its widest focal length but nothing worth squabbling about. Once I am zoomed in I get great bokeh in my backgrounds, nice and smooth. I am having a very good time with this combination. I went with this one first because of the versatility and I don't regret it at all. I know people like the 24-70 better but I think a MK II will be available soon.
Well done, now i am dreaming :-)
