Post six has two interesting points. I don't know if I understand or totally agree with them, but they're interesting.
First, that the corporate machine that cranks out "our" tastes as consumers is far removed from real life.
Second, that we might do well to turn away from myth and work on practical solutions for who we want to be. (I feel myth is necessary.)
Neither Faludi nor the others mentioned give The Searchers a full view. It irks me a bit.
