Wait, your comments were because they did not know who the Isles were playing??? This may come as a surprise to you, but NO ONE hardly cares about this sport in this country, it took a backseat to Mens Pro Bowling and a Spelling B a few years back.
@nrwo2009 You might have apoint on that one but even the dumbest of sports fans knows about the Montreal Canadiens, especially from these jerkoffs who ar ein theie late 40's to 50"s
@MomotheOld They aren't sports anchors first off, they are general media. Media in a country that vastly does not give two shits about hockey and would rather watch a Spelling B or Mens Pro Bowling. So these two are the majority, you and I are the minority, you can't blame these "jerkoffs" for not being hockey fans when nearly the entire country is the same way.
Don't see how a Ranger fan can be talking down to the Isles, you aren't much better player wise and fan wise.
Both teams are not good and although the Coliseum is nearly half empty every night, the Garden would be the same if not for the horde of corporate seats MSG has.
@nrwo2009 same old argument but doesnt fly these days. Ranger fans come from every where CT, NJ, NYC. LI to root the rangers on. because of economic times corporate seats have become less filled with suits. Again< Islander fans retread the same old insults but they dont apply. Your team is an abominantion and should be moved pronto
Every team has fans from all over the world, but that doesn't even come close to the fact that the Rangers garner most of their fans from the burroughs and Manhattan itself. You think people like Dancin' Larry pay the bills?? MSG is an expensive address and it's companies like MetLife who fit the bill year in and year out by buying up sections all over the Garden in good numbers.
It's Manhattan that makes the Rangers, not the other way around.
@MomotheOld I would not be talking about "abomination," when you look at the ownership of the Rangers. Sather should have been gone ions ago, but clueless and cold Dolan has a Moby Dick size hard on for "slats," and so you are stuck with the mess he creates each season. He has done such a horrible job that he has tarnished his reputation before he came on. "If I had the Money the Rangers have, I would be winning a cup every year."--Glenn Sather.
Actually there is a very small section in Nassau Coliseum that cares known as "Loudville" I believe it's section 330. The claim to have the best beaches and the best hockey but we all know that's complete BS. Also, perfect fight to show in the intro. Watching Prust kick Carcillo's disgusting face in always brings a smile to my face.
@GOODPLAYA20 Close, section 329. When most of them were in diapers or not even born yet, the section was notorious for being raucous. They seem to be trying to rezzerect it, but it doesn't even come close to the originals that used to be there.
Of you were not there EVERY game, sat in that section and tried to get a chant going, they would look at you like "what the fuck are you doing?" They were a real die hard bunch way back when.
