Daniel 8:11-12 claims the anti Christ would exalt himself as high as Christ and the popes did this when they called themselves vicarus filii dei JESUS substitute on earth.

I read that, early on in his career, Luther expressed concern for their (Jews) plight in Europe and that he was enthusiastic at the prospect of converting them to Christianity through his evangelical reforms. I'm not sure how credible the source was though...

@PeiperJ2 Yes, I actually own it. However, I have not read it yet. Luther actually tried to convert the Jews over to Protestantism after the reformation. The Jews refused and so Luther, out of anger, wrote the book “The Jews and Their Lies.” I don’t think he really believed that they were a bad group of people; he was just upset they didn’t want to convert so he wrote a rant on them.
