  • Guess they have to finish on a double :)

  • its in .....its oot!!!!!

  • oh naaa a broon ale his games gone to pieces!!!

  • I played competition darts in Melbourne Australia and played this on the big screen at our presentation night and no one in our club had never seen it before. They were the true legends of comedy.Cheers for the upload.

  • Stop sexing up darts sky and get back to the basics. This is how I remembered darts back in the 70's and early 80's. Get in there!

  • This is actually how we play darts at my local

  • Inspired by the stupendous Sid Waddell. If you are reading this, all the best to you.

  • guess what im playing tomorrow

  • @willyovertits Triple brandy's ,double scotch's and single pints.LOL.

  • It's going in, it's coming out again!

  • Did you know...

Rowan Atkinson is actually using his ORIGINAL accent for the commentary? lol

  • Does anyone know the one where they parody the 100 meters?

  • Did you know that Jim Carter replaced Roger Sloman as the host of the children's game show Starstrider in 1985.

  • Very very funny.

On my last turn I hit 3 triple replay buttons.

  • yeah The game Was Decline

  • the impression of Sid Waddell has the right accent but he's normally a lot more excitable

  • classic this is more of a "sport" then the real thing..

  • The funniest bit about this sketch is that, whilst one player is drinking, the other is playing darts in the background!

  • The final drink is brown ale. The accent of the commentator means he pronounces brown "broon".

  • Awesome! whats that second last drink "Even Fatter Belly" has when he fucks up? blue something?

  • @Bigfinlach "He's got a brown ale" or "broon ale" if you're a Geordie....

  • This summed up darts at this period in history, and it proved to be the beginning of the end for televised darts during the early/mid eighties. Companies considering sponsorship for the big darts tournaments said "Fuck it" after watching this. Only the BDO/PDC split, Barry Hearn & SKY TV saved darts.

  • @GRAINGE1973 Barry Hearne, SkySports and 16 players (all former world champions) saved darts. The only former world champion not involved in the creation of the WDC/PDC was the retired Leighton Rees.

  • This is MUCH more entertaining than darts. And such a classic funny sketch by the Not the 9 O'Clock News gang.

  • Love this sketch, which was so true about darts players back in the 80's. Not bad fairly pissed!

  • 7 people who watched this like darts too much.

  • I love how they're actually shooting darts while waiting for their turn.

  • mel you are smiling ha ha

  • a truly titanic struggle...double brandy,another double brandy,and a 3rd double brandy...that's 140 ml

  • My favorite line is still "Fairly pissed."

  • "Oh thats a bad one, a single pint at this stage..."

    "BOO!"

"He really needs a triple gin with ice and lemon."

Hahahaha! British Humour dominates every other form of comedy single-handedly.

  • this became on of the best sketches, because they found out Darts is a sloppy game

  • Nothing beats British comedy!!

  • It you think this is hilarious ( which it is ) ry watching the real thing - especially he 'fans'!

  • didnt they changes the rules of darts because of this sketch?

  • drinking darts what a great idea this is a great sketch!!!!

  • Just realised that they throw darts in the background between their turn at the oche :)

  • darts night at the pub or wot

  • LOL! :)

  • lol, they're throwing darts when they're not playing

  • Oh yes! Love the dart!! NTNON is genius.

  • I just noticed, for the *first time*, that 'Fatter Belly' actually throws a dart while he waits his turn (1:53). That's hilarious...

  • this is why they tieded up darts

  • This was based on in the 80s about Drinking beer by then they use water

  • 80's memories and it's still funny now!! Rowan does a great job as Sid Waddell the real darts commentator. He was a geordie too!!

  • tommy evenfatterbelly belcher!!! LOLOLOL

    140........milligrams

  • Jim Carter is the commentator, not Rowan Atkinson. This is a class sketch from a brilliant series! Funny how pro darts players now drink water too lol!!

  • @planejunky No. Jim Carter is the referee, Rowan Atkinson is doing the Geordie voice over.

  • Jim Carter worth a mention too in his cameo appearance here as the Milligrams referee.

A prolific and well-respected actor in his own right.

  • *burp* "Oh, and he's missed the table altogether".

"Oh, would you believe it? It went in, but it's come out again".

XD Genius. One of the all time greatest sketches.

  • I love it because this is my dart league

  • One of my faves. Love Rowan's Geordie accent.

  • was Rowan the announcer?

  • Playing darts in the background! Genius.

  • Still makes me laugh after seeing it dozens of times. Brilliant!!

  • One of their best

  • It certainly is that.

  • This is a pure classic! Love it.

  • An Absolute Classic.

    Tommy Evenfatterbelly Belcher!!

    Perfect.

  • There just isnt any good comedy sketches shows anymore.....kevin bishop makes a fair attempt but nowhere near this, balackadder, smith and jones, hale and pace, 2 ronnies....i blame all the cash sunk into reality tv and presenters like jonathan ross's paychecks!.....ruins the rest of the stuff

  • Mitchell and Webb take it away these days.

  • not bad, fairly pissed.

  • so arg!!! :-))))

  • 100 Milligrams.

  • not really its great. LOL x1.277

  • "Would you believe it? It went in but it's come out again!"

  • S-s-s-s-s-single pint... hahaha!

  • This sketch cameoed in one Qi episode, I think.

  • yeah was on dave last week somtime lol

  • 3:10

  • I'd luv to see them at Completely Newscasted

  • Have a nice evening

  • The "completely newscasted" category is a sly reference to Reginald Bosanquet, 1970s TV news-reader, whose trademark slurred delivery, said to be caused by epilepsy, also fed suspicions that he was a heavy drinker.

  • i like the way that they are actually throwing darts in the background or at least mel smith is

  • "he's still pissed" lolol, too funny

  • hahaha brilliant! brings back great memories!

  • Cameo from lookeylikey Graeme Souness.

  • Probs the best TV show ever.
