When you get those level 1 characters with names like yryrffdsr who stand at the entrance to the Stormwind auction room, spamming WoW gold farming websites. This is probably the gimps who organise it all. These have got many players accounts banned through cheating. Its gonna look obvious when your account is deposited with 5,000 gold. Previous day it was low.
They're being exploited. It's not a choice. If you don't like it, fuck, give them a job. Lastly, it's you PLAYERS that support this industry in the first place. There'd be no gold FARMERS without lazy gold BUYERS.
First of all, I find it very offensive that players blame the sweatshop farmers (because let's face it, they get paid jack shit), for the existence of this kind of virtual economy. I'm sure if they had a choice, these people - Chinese or not - would choose better skilled and higher paying jobs, instead of working themselves to the bone, lining someone else's pockets.

This is so strange. It's difficult to understand how a few of them feel that it is a prison, while the others say it is just fun. I also do not really know where I stand on this subject. I'd say atleast they are making money. I play WoW and I guess I don't really feel the in-game effects of gold farmers. I mean, I haven't noticed any insane fluctuations in item prices. They need better food, and they definetley should open a window or two for some fresh air. :(
I read from one morning magazine about gold farmers, some of them farm 20hours in a day for 3weeks and then they can sleep and have fun for 1week, and they get around 500euros, how many jins that ever is but, thats a lot for a gold farmer.
then they might also take some economic courses and see how little this type of farming affects the ingame economy with it's unlimited resources... at the end of the day the only way you will see your gameplay experience change is that items sold at the AH will bring a slightly lower value because of increased supply.
anyone who has a problem with this needs to stop shopping at wal mart or costco first, then they need to spend their free time helping the poor at home and overseas, not spending their free time playing a game.... they also need to petition their government to change trade laws making it more difficult for the 1st world to exploit the 3rd... after that, if they still feel so strongly, they should go to china and see what the kids who don't have gold farming jobs have to do to get money to eat.

When you get those level 1 characters with names like yryrffdsr who stand at the entrance to the Stormwind auction room, spamming WoW gold farming websites. This is probably the gimps who organise it all. These have got many players accounts banned through cheating. Its gonna look obvious when your account is deposited with 5,000 gold. Previous day it was low.

First of all, I find it very offensive that players blame the sweatshop farmers (because let's face it, they get paid jack shit), for the existence of this kind of virtual economy. I'm sure if they had a choice, these people - Chinese or not - would choose better skilled and higher paying jobs, instead of working themselves to the bone, lining someone else's pockets.

i hate these ppl. im on stormreaver (24000 ppl), and it is one of the most heavily spammed servers. before blizz introduced the report spam button it was impossible to whisper somebody or do anything without spams half the size of ur chat box popping every minute. i really dont feel any simpathy for these people.

I know lol, Life just playing some low resolution game on a beige crt for 12 hours earning gold that you cant use and then eating some rice and cabbage and then sleeping in crowded , damp dorms and then repeat in sweaty close spaces..............
Trust me, I would fuckin go insane if i had to work at such a job for 20 years...(i know its one of the only ways to get money but...hey..)

This is so strange. It's difficult to understand how a few of them feel that it is a prison, while the others say it is just fun. I also do not really know where I stand on this subject. I'd say atleast they are making money. I play WoW and I guess I don't really feel the in-game effects of gold farmers. I mean, I haven't noticed any insane fluctuations in item prices. They need better food, and they definetley should open a window or two for some fresh air. :(

I read from one morning magazine about gold farmers, some of them farm 20hours in a day for 3weeks and then they can sleep and have fun for 1week, and they get around 500euros, how many jins that ever is but, thats a lot for a gold farmer.

then they might also take some economic courses and see how little this type of farming affects the ingame economy with it's unlimited resources... at the end of the day the only way you will see your gameplay experience change is that items sold at the AH will bring a slightly lower value because of increased supply.

anyone who has a problem with this needs to stop shopping at wal mart or costco first, then they need to spend their free time helping the poor at home and overseas, not spending their free time playing a game.... they also need to petition their government to change trade laws making it more difficult for the 1st world to exploit the 3rd... after that, if they still feel so strongly, they should go to china and see what the kids who don't have gold farming jobs have to do to get money to eat.
