The "andante starts with" (above) overlooks some important subteties of the assymetry Mozart used for crafting the atmosphere. E.g.: the first bass period is 4+3 bars. The melody is 3+3, and my guess is that it's an elaboration of a more basic (original daft? of a) 2+2 pattern, achieved by prolonging (to 9 rather than 3 8thnotes) and syncopating the peak notes of the two parts of the phrase. So there is no regular 4+4, but an overlayed 3+3 on 4+3. Indeed Mozart knew how to CRAFt his inspiration
(continued) the coda at 07:08 seems to reflect Mozart's pre-occupation with the phrase structure of the same bass patterns, and perhaps underscores the importance he related to it and reveales more about his craftmanship. Such hidden sophisticated calculations are abundant in Mozart's music, and very often overlooked by commentators. A hairsplitting analysis of his structural techniques is very satisfying for people who enjoy formal inquiry in music appreciation. Mozart KNEW what he was doing.
For my money the definitive recording of this concert, perfect tempo and a loving touch of each note. Great balance with the orchestra. Thank you so much for the download.
@winterleaf00 You are very welcome my friend. I am glad that you enjoyed it and that I could you give you that small bit of enjoyment. Thank you for your comment.
@misfit12341 I love this piece of music too, but i have to say its not good to listen to when studying, what they say is not true. But that is my strong advice to you, but you dont have to take it. take care......
JUST SUPERB!!!!! ALICIA DE LARROCHA HAS BEEN ONE OF THE GREATEST!!!! and some people only know her for her renditions of spanish music. IS TIME TO KNOW THAT SHE HAS PLAYED MUCH MORE THAN JUST MUSIC OF SPANISH COMPOSERS. SHE HAD A LONG REPERTOIRE (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, impressionist, etc). SHE HAS BEEN ONE OF THE GREATES OF THE KEYBOARD OF OUR TIME!!!!! YEEEEESSSSSSS
A great performance, thanks for uploading!

How was WAM feelin when he wrote this, and why?
WAM dedicated his 36th 'Hafner' Symphony, a similarly melodic masterpiece, to his new father-in-law when he got married.
That's a lot of symphonies before settling down.
Did this work come sooner or later?

@misfit12341 No. To listen to this music with anything less than total, undivided attention is to spit in Mozart's face.
