Really, seriously.......... if GK is not your cup of tea.....well, then....... he's not your cup of tea. As a far on his (for decades), I ask that, if you do not appreciate his type of humor, just ignore him. If you have an agenda, which includes ripping him apart.............. gosh...... WHY? Why not just let him do his thing, and those of us who resonate with his brand of humor, enjoy it??? I PERSONALLY have seen him live 5 times, grew up with him via radio, and being from the midwest...
@BarbarianDragon and what is that exactly supposed to mean? Forgive me not being able to read between the lines.... if you care to clarify your statement, I would love to respond to your comment.
look at that old fossil david letterboob! he has a most formidable hearing aid
and has had several heart bypass operations and smokes 8 packs of cigarettes a day just like rus limberger when he is going to retire!!! garrison keiler married his high school sweetheart and she came home and found him in their bed sodomizing the teenage girl babysitter what a turd he is! a true citizen of that horrible, grim, bleak, nasty, sinister, unliveable place
Yes, I agree with Keeler. Texas was unreadable. Maybe it's just that I'm not a Michener fan. I'd rather listen to Keeler than read his books. His voice brings down my blood pressure.
The Prairie Home Companion show has given millions of people great incite and entertainment for more than 30 years. It has given me hundreds of not thousands of hours of happiness. What have you produced for humanity besides poisonous comments like this?
@mylene97531 Its the laf refuge of an idiot toe pick up on someones splleing, as they don't have a prooper argument to retort. This is my freedom of speech, is that ok with you? Or do I have something wrong with me, that you will just have to pick up on because you have no other argument
Actually, an idiot would not know how to spell correctly, so your "argument" is moot. Clearly, you are an idiot since you seem to lack the understanding of what a possessive apostrophie is.
I've already said that I dislike his show. I find it to be very dated, and nauseating
Keillor is one of the great voices of our time. It doesn't matter if you agree with his politics or not, he definitely represents the thoughts of many and he does it in the most sincere manner. I love his work.
I was just watching Dave interview Hunter Thompson and Crispin Glover, and now Garrison! It just seems like there were more interesting people back then.
Ha ha Garrison was wonderfully able to capture the essense of what it means to be minnesotan. in that book in the manifest that that guy tried to nail to the squat frumpy luthern church it is an unbelievable weird dreary frumpy awful just plain nuts place and Garrison captures minnesotaism at its finest whoopee! buy and read it.
I was a huge fan of PHC since about 1981. But beginning in the mid-90's I began to tire of GK's sticks-in-the-eye aimed at conservatives. By 2000 his bitterness just overwhelmed his schtick and I quit him.
He's great when he delves the psyche of midwestern middle America. But his sense of entitlement to taxpayers money while overtly pushing a political party just disgusts me today. You can take public money. You can push whatever politics you want. You just can't do both at the same time.

When GK was a 6' tall kid, the still 5' tall kids would, one by one, beat him up, again, one on one, every day. Finally, GK was sent to an exclusive private school with a bunch of other sissies.

On second thought, it is seen that Dr. Keillor was never a child, has always been this 6'7" dullard who has managed to fool so many people for so long. Gots to hand it to Dr. Keillor: for someone who has nothing to say, a lot has been said.
P.S. Our "conservatives' conserve nothing, are also the very elitists they claim to hate. But Dr. Keillor is one of those humanstic art-snobs who are no better.
I saw this at the time. I had no interest in Prairie Home Companion or Lake Wobegon and still don't, but found this interview one of the most memorable on Letterman. I've read a bunch of his other books, though. Just gave someone Radio Romance earlier tonight.

Freedom of speech which is a right given by America's founding fathers, entitles individuals to dissenting views.
I'm sure meandpepsi has loads of humanitarian awards plastering his/her walls (sarcasm)
You may also want to buy a dictionary. Rather than incite, I think you meant insight.

He "did" Sonnets for an hour and a half. If one was memorized he stared at his left hand while he recited.
