  • okay jim

  • I felt like I was on a cloud =)

  • Teddy W!

  • my father played paino for Benny Goodman when he was in Boston and helped do the first recording of Moonglow...he played the piano, and could he play Honky Tonk piano.

    Mr Loren Davies

  • Beautiful Music.

  • I AM ONE YOUNG TEENEGERS DE 65 YEARS OLD,...BUT IN 1957, + - , LISTEN THIS MUSIC IN THE CINEMATOGRAPH,...THE LIFE OF BENNY GOODMAN, WHEN THE QUARTET IS FORMED, LIONEL HAMPTON, TEDDY WILSON ,GENE KRUPA AND THE KING OF SWING, BENNY GOODMAN...THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PICTURE,,,AHORA SOY FANATICO DEL JAZZ......

  • Love this.

  • Recorded May 14, 1934. The band personnel is of interest: two sets of brothers, Benny and Harry Goodman, Charlie and Jack Teagarden. Teddy Wilson had just replaced Artie Schutt on piano, and the band had a new sound. Jack Teagarden is featured heavily here, and rightly so, although Benny's later recordings of the song belonged mainly to him! Shaw is good, but there is something else about Goodman's work that is deeply emotional.

  • I really love metal... but damn, you gotta listen to some jazz from time to time

  • @MotiCompleto008

"Metal" (music) will rot your sensitivity; in additon to your hearing.

    Try Jazz and Classical instead........

    :))

Good for a quite, serene mood:

Ludwig Van Beethoven - Piano Sonata No.14 Moonlight Sonata

    /watch?v=KmYLRZkzc7M

I hope you enjoy it. :))

  • @BoudiccaBlanc I'm pretty sure my hearing and sensitivity are still in quite a good state, since I still enjoy bossanova, jazz and blues

  • @MotiCompleto008

That is good to hear! :))

Have a nice weekend .. what is left of it :))

  • JUST SUPER BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • I'm only 16 now, but I'm soo going to dance to this at my wedding<3

  • @xShOwErSinGerx

    I would that swing! <3

  • this makes me feel so weird.. so relaxed.. yet it has a touch of sadness :/ i dont know.. it might be just me.

  • nice

  • This music is the very best. This and such like should be compulsery listening for all who feel a bit low.

  • This was Benny's first band you have to give him som slack.

  • Such an amazing song. I wish I was born in times like these.

  • I'd like to the "The Aviator" ...Great Movie...

  • I can not like this enough :)

  • why I was fucking born in 1989? -_-

  • @helluvagun Im still drummin at age 77 but this kind of music was always my

forte I often wish I could have mixed it with these guys. Trouble with that is Id

probably have snuffed it by now instead of still enjoying playing!

  • Awh. I wasnt alive when this came out but I wish I was..

  • @TheBrunetteBarbie11

Sometimes I think it would've been great to have been around in those days; to get the feeling, to see all them greats and smell the air at first hand. But then again it was hard times. Some of the music was recorded and could still be listened to!

  • @helluvagun Yah me too! Such a good time for music, clothes, manners and things, but then again the depression, mobs, WWII ect

  • One of my fave tracks from Benny Goodman, it seems like no one my age likes this beautiful music, only hip hop and stuff which i like too but I prefer this ANY day <3

  • @TheBrunetteBarbie11 no you dont cuz then we wouldnt have interner cell phones and ipods and stuff :s

  • @TheBrunetteBarbie11 Y'know... I am glad I am not the only one that feels like this

  • @TheBrunetteBarbie11

Probably you would have been nostalgic of some other age...

  • @TheBrunetteBarbie11 I bet not. If you were old enough to appreciate it when it was recorded, you'd be 91 now, and speaking as one who is 68, getting old is no fun.

  • @ianjcameron AMIGO:- LA VISA CONTINUA....SOLO EL , ..SABE CUANDO DEBES DETENERTE....AMA A TUS SERES QUERIDOS COMO NUNCA,...NO TE ARREPIENTAS DE NADA...DA LO MAS QUE PUEDAS, HASTA TU ULTIMO ALIENTO....

  • I love this song !..it reinds me of the Benny Goodman story..which is one of my favorite movies about the swing era

  • a personal favorite of dr. cliff huxtable

  • @M00Dswing9 haha I always watching The Cosby Show!

  • when people talk about the good old times, I think they are talking about this kind of music.

  • Folks, comparing this to later Artie Shaw makes no sense! This is early Swing, still very much indebted to Chicago Style Jazz, and Shaw's Gramercy Five recordings are one step ahead, some of them bordering on mild bebop, considering arrangements. It only makes sense to compare 40ies style Goodman to 40ies style Shaw, and so on.

  • I feel like in monopoly game;D

  • Better than Artie Shaw's arrangement in my opinion. More authentic

  • LOVELY, I have Benny Goodman original preformances of the Benny Goodman Classics in Swing on vinyl! I guess the record is from 1957 or 1958 (Columbia).Original recording 1956. It still souns great, I am going to take it to my brother to get it cleaned, awesome! Makes my day, every time! - a "Punk"

  • LOL im gonna rate this bad even though i like this :D

  • Puts me in a fantastic mood!

  • Artie Shaw's arrangement beats this one to death. No comparison.

  • @vegas4al

I beg to disagree. Artie Shaw with the Gramercy five is thrilling but somewhat behind!

  • @vegas4al Not for nuthin, but music is subjective and not a competition sport - period. Incidentally, although I love this version, I also REALLY love the Artie Shaw arrangements. Then again, Teagarden's touch, huh?

  • @vegas4al Obviously you've never heard Pee Wee Hunt's version...although I haven't been able to find it online...SOMEONE UPLOAD IT!

  • @vegas4al i disagree.

the lead sounds so much sweeter in this version. also, the whole thing sounds much more vintage than Artie's

  • @vegas4al

No way my friend- the great Jack teagraden is on the is record.

  • yea i disagree as well. Benny Goodman version has it going on. lol. But its opinions.

  • Ahhhhh, good music, and not a single mention of the world's idiotic pop culture. I Have finally found a calm place in youtube where one can sit back and actually relax

  • what year is this? I love it

  • @vanillapod1

    Recorded NY, may 14 1934

  • R.I.P good music..

  • 0 dislikes

the only video on youtube without any dislikes...thats ought to mean something!

  • @SophisticatedJuju

All of mine, but one are without dislikes. Don't know why!

  • @helluvagun

Yes, but if you look at the number of thumbs up, it's only 0.4% of total views (whereas normally I think this is higher). That there are few dislikes just means few people come here and rate the video.

Still an awesome piece. Could really imagine doing a nice dance with a girl to this. :)

  • @helluvagun NO...c-c-c-c-c-ombo breaker D:

  • @SophisticatedJuju
