@learnpoise it appears this particular master class received teaching by both an Alexander teacher and a massage therapist. Your main issue may be with combining these in a single class.
Sorry, but the Alexander Technique does not ever use "stretching" as a strategy to improve flexibility & response. (Please remove the tag.) Although your own head and neck are pretty flexible, what you are having people do is making the tendons in their necks stand out with more tension. Contrary to what you're pointing at, neck tension relaxes on the inside curl where your head is pointed toward, not on the side that is being stretched.
