I had this done to me a few days ago what I hate is the neck pain I get after the procedure its uncomfortable the only way to make it go away is laying down or taking medication im just hopeing its not permanant.has anyone been getting the neck pain aftet lumard puncture?i did not get the so called spinal head aches
It really depends on your pain tolerance. I was recently in the hospital for the first time for a week. Lumbar puncture doesn't hurt as much as a bone marrow biopsy on both sides. Well that didn't really hurt either, just the healing process hurts. I was in the hospital about a month and a half ago and still in pain from my bone marrow biopsy.
I am suppose to get one of these but I am very scared that it might hurt something might go wrong or anything I dnt know what to do they trying to figure out why I have swelling behind my eyes and fluid and if I dnt get it taking care of I can become permently blind. What am I to do I am scared everytime I think of this I start crying real bad.
I've heard it hurts like crazy if you're awake, but that if you just hold very still, it's better. My son was diagnosed at the age of 17, so he's considered Pediatric Oncology. And where we live, they sedate all Pediatric patients for Spinal Taps and Bone Marrow Aspirations. Thank God.
You did not have hot nurses all around you. This is NOT you. This is my son and he has been through this 35 times so far as part of his Leukemia treatment and I find it highly offensive that anyone would claim to be him.
You seemed so calm. I hope i never have to have a spinal tap. I think i'd have to be put a sleep. You say and chemo, what part was chemo. I hope your a lot better now.

i had one done before. it feels more weird than pain. You feel pressure and all and they numb it before hand.. I was awake for mine.
