This type of attitude is so typical of Alaskans. They think that all they have to do is scream and yell to escape facing reality. They'll be damned if anyone's going to remind them of concepts such as civic responsibility or integrity. It's all them, all the time. I was born and raised there and thank God I left.

I would like to say that whom ever wrote the statement below me does not represent the whole of Alaskans. Nor does Mr. Young, I can't even begin to tell you who pissed I am about this phony acting as a Rep. to our state. This state has tons and tons of resources and only one Rep.

I know long time republicans who wont be voting for Young again. Which says a lot, cause this state is mostly RED. Good riddance that guy is self serving scum. We don't want him.

I don't think that 95% of Alaskans are like Young. He is not a good representation of Alaska. There are a lot of people who care about taking care of the land and endangering the animals and squandering the resources. I still live in Alaska and I know that some people here do care about ending this kind of corruption.

I honestly wish I could believe that. Sure, plenty of people might like talking the talk, but in the end apathy rules in Alaska. Where'd you grow up? I'm guessing Juneau or Anchorage. I grew up in Fairbanks, the breadbasket of Republican stupidity. I really wish I had a more positive view, but eventually I had to except the reality of the people and move elsewhere.

I grew up in Fairbanks also and i KNOW there are people who keep things in check. you just have to look for it. I helped with some of the organizations on campus. Sure if you don't take initiative you wont find groups that think like you. Besides almost anywhere else in the States, look how screwed-up there land is. Tons of pollution, wal-marts, pavement, and just as much apathy. Alaska needs more forward thinking voters to stop the stupid apathy. If everybody leaves then we will surely lose
