your not weak one day before you turn twelve, then the next day you suddenly find the strenght!!!! no it doesnt work like that, you build up the strength over time and I think you teacher has the right to say when you are ready
umm no matter what everybody says about the whole pointe issue...it doesnt matter cause shes on pointe now and obviosly her teacher thought she was ready
I was 11 and i have been dancing since the age of 2, my teacher new when i would be strong enough, so if you only started at the age of 8 you still shouldnt be on now.
People are different. Just because YOU weren't ready, it doesn't mean that none will be. ever. It really doesn't matter how long you have been dancing, it is the quality of your training that matters.
I think she is a very pretty dancer; she has the technique and the body, but I don't really think she has the passion or the grace :( although I admire her technique.. very professional, specially because of how young she is.
I was 14 when i started pointes. And that is late. But we were the first class who got on pointes at my school. My teacher starts late with that so we are deffently strong enough
She maybe ruined her feet... it's not good to start that young... normaly you're feed are "finished in growing" (don't know how to say...) at the age of 12.
i got mine at 10 but then i had to quit because we moved away from where we lived and my ballet school...and now where i live its WAAYY to pricey and i and 16 now and i have had surgey on my feet so now my ankles and feet are weak...and pluse i dont know anyone who would teach a half grown young woman ballet alll over again
ducthess16, i am so sorry to hear that...but don't be discouraged.mikhail baryshnikov stopped dancing when he was 11 and started again when he was 15. Alvin Ailey didn't even start dancing until he was like 18. it's not too late for you. maybe you can get a scholarship or do releves at home to strenngthen your ankles. dont give up.
That's lovely, really! Too many people of her age are just doing tricks, not dancing... She is dancing elegantly with technique, that's delicious for the eyes
It might look amazing to see talented young girls doing advanced pointe work - but what a terrible thing to do to their poor feet. It'll be no advantage to them in the long term.
If they are strong enough...And taught well...There shouldn't be much damage. But with many athletic arts, you really can't avoid long term damage..Whether it is a little...Or a huge amount..
After the hops on pointe she can't stop knuckling. But she needs more turnout and to straighten her knees more. But she has good stage presense. She's good.
she's got many tallent but she probably strated on points to soon to get this perfection. I don't aprove get on points on this age because will demange the body for ever.
Beautiful, beautiful... But why they have to be so brilliant at this age? It takes so much hard work and they are so young. Whole life is just about ballet. And I bet they are not so good shape in their thirties.
I think it's important to remember that children's body is very soft and vulnerable. Let them be children even a moment.
jeeze, she's 10? she must have started younger to be that good. and that's aweful! she's going to have growing disabilities and such. maybe not if she's lucky, it's great that she's great but sad that she started too early
She didn't start too early. My friend was eight when she started pointe and three when she started ballet. She now is in the Kirov Academy and thirteen. o.O A LOT of people start ballet when they are very young, and they usually do not have growing disabilities or anything similar.
no ten is deffenentaly too young to be on pointe. your supposed to wait untill your 11 because the bones in your feet dont fully develope untill then. and if shes ten and that good on pointe she obviously started earlier. way to early. i know someone who started pointe when they were 7 and now cant walk because of it. lets hope it dosent ruin her in the long run.
Actually, bones develop at a different rate for everyone. They normally say 10-12 because that's the normal age. Although some people's feet fully develop before or after that.
