I wish they would release this show onto DVD in America because this is one of several 1980's cartoons that have not been seen in America since original air dates. Plus I remember how i got laughs out of that grandfather with the way he behaved a whole lot of the time.

No, he's using a Sony Walkman, which were created and first sold in 1979. Walkmans were cassette players combined with AM/FM radios, which could sometimes record (these models had an external clip-on mic.)

I always enjoyed Scott's transformation sequence: that was too cool for words. The funny part is that after he's transformed, he looks at himself from left to right and even worse, if he's in public, he has to hide from prying eyes. Kinda like that sequence in the movie when he's running to the bathroom! I had a hard time not busting out in tears laughing cause Scott was in a nasty situation at the time.
