Serene didn't play good "first strike" tennis in this match. She didn't serve or return as well as she normally does. Especially considering how weak Zheng's serve is. And Serena's second serve "kick" wasn't effective at all against Zheng. To her credit Zheng wasn't intimidated by Williams' power. She stayed on or inside the baseline and constantly took the ball early like Hingis, which surprised Williams for most of this match. Serena's experience and mental toughness won this match.

@waterpower105 SKILL (mental tactics) would be a 1st attribute,2nd SPEED is very important(being able to get to the ball and executing a great shot), 3rd POWER muscling your opponents shot back, and 4th is PLACEMENT (executing a shot). But always remember your serve tells alot about your game okay im done rambling but i feel that is what you need to be a pro-player and succeed.

It is not because of the lack of training but their genes. Zheng worked so hard to get to the top20, yet Serena skyrocketed to the tops of the tops. It would be amazing to see Zheng reaches #1 but I doubt she secures that rank.
