lovely stuff. makes you think how bland our 4/4 music is today in this culture of synthesised pop beats and over processed vocals... raw and to the point.. brilliant!
I'm not sure. Those early records of mine were produced with very low budgets, so depending on what you are used listening to the sound could be subpar. I'm used to (and prefer) listening to recordings of live recordings, so its not a problem for me.
Sorry, this was in response to a question about the quality of the recording 'On The Edge of Tomorrow', did I think this recording had poor sound quality.
Beg. with the CD before Rhythm People (called Sine Die) CDs had better quality & larger budgets. Also 'Guard' changed quite a bit bet. 1985/1996, & became our theme song. It changed so much it was almost unrecognizable. The older compositions morphed into slices of motifs we used as jumping off points for improvisations. Your final video (part 7) is mostly 'Change The Guard' also with a little bit of 'Fire Revisited' at the end. It'd be hip if I could get the original video from you on DVD.
By the way I also have one VHS of a show with the mystic rythm society, anthony tid, sean rickman and andy milne (and you). I will record it on dvd when I have time.
The name of this song is 'Change The Guard', not 'Fire Revisited' (also there is a little of the song 'Neutral Zone' morphed in there starting at 3:16.
I'm sure they did ask, because they could not have even known the names of those other songs, they just got the information wrong. Keep in mind that these concerts are not like Pop concerts, sometimes the songs run into each other and it can be confusing if you are not familiar with this music.
thanks for posting!!! damn this is the best. steve coleman is so unbelievable. this drummer is sean rickman. i used to like him with Gene Lake on drums even more. i had a video of north sea jazz of 1994(or'93) and it was amazing. i lost the video!! i hope to sometime find it. this is incredible. :')

It's for me, I deleted my remark, sorry.
I listened "Change The Guard" on your website and though maybe it was a mp3 compression problem.
The keyboard sound very "eighties" also :)

Actually I am used to listen to your CD's ! lol
But the oldest record I know is Rhythm People.

I was about to ask you if you could get the dvd version from M6 TV Channel !! :-D
The most "original" I have is a divx that I recorded from a VHS that I probably still have.
This divx is available from your ftp (or a fan ftp) I seen one day that someone had put it there, he probably got it from popular p2p.
I know nothing about artists rights from their own recordings, but maybe you can ask to M6 or Nancy Jazz pulsation organisation ?
