@Romerjon17, Every nation has their share of criminals not only Philippines. Having guards in establishments makes people feel more secured. Also wages for security guards in PI are still affordable to these companies. Have you been to Johannesburg? They have the highest crime rate in the world. I was there in 2001 and the hotel I stayed at have military soldiers with machine guns on top of the hotel.
@ricman46 Islamic terrorists. An MRT train was destroyed after a terrorist bombing Dec. 31, 2000 and many innocent lives were lost. Investigations found out that the terrorists used pictures of the stations and trains on planning the attack. That's why.
@jmdarcega but with the advent of technology like cellphone cameras and minute video cams all corners of all of these stations are already all over the internet. besides, this is only being implemented in the Philippines but not in other countries which has previous terrorist attacks.
this is an outdated and baloney strategy to prevent terrorism. or the guards just love to "sita". where are the "no picture" signs?
@ricman46 It's not a "baloney and outdated" strategy, it's not just terrorism IMHO. Possible Stalking? criminals making surveillance to potential victims? You can never blame the guards after all. They have the jurisdiction to ensure the safety of the passengers. They'll "sita" the people who look suspicious in their eyes. To me it's not an issue, it's their job.
@jmdarcega Many tourists come to Manila everyday and would love to take pictures of anything including the MRT. We all take pictures of MRT's and train stations all over the world. Why only in the Philippines? Weird and plain stupid.
@ricman46 clear things up....people can take pictures of the MRT, but of course there is a higher risk that the guards would take their eyes on the camera's holder. It's not stupid at all....if you're a guard, would you just stand inside the train doing nothing?
@randomstough Manila's LRT Line 1 is the first in Southeast Asia. Therefore, the system is kinda old. But the purple line, the latest one, is comparable to the region.

to prevent loose dust from accumulating. the dust would go under the gravel layer and not be kicked up when the train passes over it. (Manila is dusty, esp summer)
Attitude of saying that homosexuals are a bunch of people who needs attentions! Because they felt lesser from heterosexual people? Fighting for equality without any purpose, but the need of new laws to protect homosexual friends at the same time provoking religious people and hetersexual society to be degrading for not accepting homosexual behaviour as normal? You call this fighting for equal rights, or perhaps undermining the entire heterosexual people/notions who doesn't recognize homosexuals?
Just tell me you're trying to say "Homosexual rights"! Please, be honest what are you trying to say because I am honest of what I believe against homosexuals and many other people like you who thinks the world revolves over some .5% people in the world that need attention from their government through protectionism! You quoted "lesser than a human being?" I could put a million of people that deserves to be called lesser than a human being than your homosexual friends who see themselves "lesser"!
Do you know what happens to a christians too in some places of the world? They get killed, they are tortured, they are sawn asunder! Do you know what happens to some OFW to some other countries? They get killed, they are beaten. They are tortured and persecuted. They get their testicles cut! Now are they are crying for equality? NO!!! They are crying for MERCY, and pray to the Lord Jesus Christ to intervene. But no! They rather suffer it, its because we live in a sinful world! You get the clue!
Theres a huge world out there, and its a fact that homosexuality and feminism has been and still thriving to restore their new ways of sexual behaviour. It is not colorful for heterosexual society that being remolded by homosexual agenda through education, mass media, etc. Parents must be aware and be prepared on the new modern type of sexual behaviour. That's why I called it, a diabolical plot against religion, family, marriage & moral boundaries! They are the victims of degradating our society
Ang homosexual ay isang agenda to depopulate the earth in using words like "equal rights". Ang bawat gays ay may iba-ibang characteristics. But base sa mga nalaman ko, its just part of the program na "social-engineering" to degrade and discredit heterosexual society. Through this, they got to aim the young minds first in order to confuse them. Its called conditioning the minds of individual person particularly young kids. Homosexuality is as the same as feminism. The same flag the same goal!
Ang rights to choice ay isang God-given rights. No one can take it away from you except God the Creator! But God has its own moral standard for the people. Free means being in truth, love, peace, etc! Ang isang homosexual gets his rights from the Creator as individual person! Looked down upon, because homosexual is not the same as heterosexual! Its a new typed-of-gender, its embracing a man as feminine! Its a diabolical plot against heterosexual society and of men's leadership of family/marriage
just check the newly opened dubai metro!the largest automated driverless system in the world...maganda talaga cia as in!mas maganda p cia sa airport satin sa pinas..station p lng panalo n!sana meron din tu sa pinas!
metro trains are better in the philippines than the subways of new york or cta of chicago, or the mrt of malaysia (this is the yuckiest). philippine mrt is at par with the ones in hk and singapore, so filipinos should stop complaining hehe. for improvement, manila should add more mrt stations and everything will be well ^-^
Ang dahilan ng squatters ay dahilan na ang Maynila ay pot ng honey. Ang dahilan ng overpopulation dahilan people do not have job at saka, lack of education sila dahilan din ito sa economic crisis. Yet she is educated!
