Solar panels have a long way to go, they have to be optimized to be able to work on cloudy places specially closer to the poles. Besides, most companies who develop solar panes want to SELL THEM.

there isn't too much we disagree on. replacing the human element is a little far fetched, but what about all the jobs that have been replaced in the past? and the jobs that are being replaced right now? as technology gets better, and the population expands, the most abundant resource on this planet will be human labor. when a resource is abundant it's cheap and easy to come by, so companies don't have to worry about retention or morale. not everyone can be an artist.
