This movie and soundtrack will always have a special place in my life. My family and I moved from Staten Island to Birmingham, MI in the summer of 83 after my sophomore year of High School. Was terribly home sick and probably saw this (and Easy Money - which was shot on good ol' SI) at least 5 times - made me feel like I was home again. Can't believe it's been 28 years!

as a travolta fan i was bitterly dissappointed i thought the film was fantastic

and the bee gees songs were totally fitting to the film great songs

it could have been promoted much better here in the uk

Another absolutely beautiful early 80s tune from The Beegees ignored by U.S. top 4o due to the discobacklash at the turn of the decade; too sad, really. My favorite top 40 is late 70s and early 80s; but looking toward europe one will find the best of the 80s even in the later half of the 80s where I felt U.S. music had grown boring big time

Using no falsetto voices was a real suprise for a lot of people... after hearing the soundtrack Staying Alive, the follow up to Saturday night fever.

The movie was bad, the BeeGees songs were brilliant.

The woman in you was the Beegees leading single track for the album.

HERE IS MY THOUGHTS on why beauties like 'I love you too much'; and 'Someone belonging to someone' didnt chart well (or at all) on U.S. top 40. Had these songs come out just a couple years prior (to 83') I think they would have been major hits. 1983 (a great year 4 music) was all about anti-70s and the new british-new wave thing. In 81, the 'disco backlash'created a VACUUM in top 40 (until 82) which left much room for 70s artists; and The BeeGees (innovators they are) had a brilliant 80s Sound.

I agree completely. The movie is a total guilty pleasure for me but I think the soundtrack kicks ass and they are sooo underrated as a group, I hate how its sooo easy to hate on some of the greatest artists of all time, i.e. Bee Gees and George Michael.

You know, their early 80s hits (many given to other singers) were so captivating; like "Carried Away" (Olivia); "All the love in the world", and "Heartbreaker" (Dionne), and ofcourse "Someone belonging to someone", damnit they had some incredibly sexy songs in the early 80s! What a shame that they declined in radio play due to rock n roll backlash towards disco artists.
