  • i am just removing some electronic parts from an old radio/tuner station because i needed a 470 Ohm resistor in order to make a webcam into an astro-webcam... now i´m gonna harvest the rest of the components too, you never know if they be useful. i use a regular "lötkolben" a soldering iron....

  • 28 pin ics can suck my dick now....although i can get them off with my shitty lil soldering iron

  • Funny! This man is so greedy to get his free parts he have forgotten to show the soldering pot and to mention where he ve bought it!

  • This guy lets 6 minuts see how he removes parts but would not tell what tool he 's using and where to buy it-very stupid and unhelpfull. Ignorent !

  • toxic odors can injure your lungs or trigger an asthma atack...Hg Pb Br atoms too

  • @desenxuxator Pb boil temp 1749°C Hg 350°C Br 59°C. Ventilation should be done. But remember to wash your hands. Touching Pb is more dangerous than breathing it (as boil temp is so high, only particles can reach you).

  • Heh, I'm just saying my 2c. And melting own old stuff has far more lead too.. A good hood will stop you getting occupational asthma or worse, I'm sure there are hacks for them ;)

  • You just sold me one soldering pot! :P

  • Jameco sells solder pots and raw (bar) solder.

  • Very cool. I think you just sold me on a solder pot...

  • Yep ,

it is always better not to use Ventilation with a solder pot. That way you can enjoy all that molten metal goodness when you breathe.

  • @hardcoreforensics Ventilation is on place. Upper left corner.

  • @alek202 That does not look at all suitable

  • @Psimonkey it is. maybe not perfect, but feel free to sponsor a professional ventilation for our hackerspace ;)

  • @bamamikestl Agreed... Since there are no sold pots here where I live, this looks alot faster than my dang hotair gun... ANy Idea on where to get one? Along with non flux solder bars? Cause I have never even see thoes either.

Unless you made the pot, and made your own bars? FYI I live in the USA, and in Arizona, so any info would be appreciated.

  • Reusing old caps that you've boiled to death with the solder pot... no thanks ;)

  • @donpalmera As you can see in the video, desoldering time is not very high. A heat gun does quite more damage.

  • what's the model of your soldering pot? or do you have any recommendations on one to get?

  • @bamamikestl I can't recall the model right now, but it's an ERSA soldering pot.
