  • Who's more dead, Andy, Elvis, or Tupac?

  • Andy was NOT the first person to do Elvis impersonations, there have been Elvis impersonators since the sixties, that's just how famous Elvis was.

  • Trispect

  • RESPECT

  • @MrSosano69 Much Respect

  • Andy Kaufman showed the entire world the fine line which divides genius from madness.

  • @1955thekeeper true

  • this is my favorite one of them all...he was so cool

  • AK was a genius whether you call it comedy or 'performance art' he was a true original!

  • I sure miss these days of comedy and Andy..he blew me a way watching him was an inspiration when I was a kid.

  • andy are you goofin on elvis..

  • @dimis485

    hey Baby!

  • Elvis even said in a n interview his favortie imatator was andy kaufman

  • very funny. although the song was just a recording of Elvis playing in the back but that was what made Andy great, he was always looking to play jokes on people.

  • @Brawler484 Sorry man, but that was not Elvis singing, it was Andy all the way! I am a big Elvis Presley fan and I think this impersonation is so great, let´s remember that the true man himself was very funny in his concerts. One genius goofing on another...Great upload.

  • @PortusCale100 Elvis was a fan of Andy Kaufman's impersonations too: "According to Mike Wallace, Elvis liked Andy the best. Andy's impression of Elvis was reverential. A young Kaufman had, after all, written a book about Elvis, modestly titled God, hitchhiked to Las Vegas, camped out in the basement pantry of the casino where Presley was performing, and ambushed the King en route to his private elevator to the penthouse. "

Man, the world needs Andy Kaufman NOW more than ever....

  • @ElvisMan35 A true fan, Andy was. Wonderful story, I´ll try to find the book. I knew that Elvis digged his impersonation, but not the other facts, thanks man. I think, as you do that Andy´s impression was a tribute to the King. But I tell you man, Andy could perform before a crowd, the singing, the moves, the feel were all there. To tell you the truth, I don´t like Elvis impersonations, but Andy´s was something else, I wouldn´t mind to be able to see him in concert....Best regards.

  • @Brawler484 What a stupid remark. What part of "imitation'' didn't you understand? It is Andy Kauffman doing the singing.

  • he's not a comedian he's a song-and-dance man :)

  • @MrNebulah yea thanks Wikipedia

  • @xxPSYCHOSLUTxx not wikipedia... the movie

  • he was great.

  • It's not always easy to "get" his humor, but Kaufman was a comic genius. And... he could ROCK the congas!!! RIP Andy..

  • Too bad he's not alive now, I bet he would do a great Nicholas Cage.

  • One impression after another, some blended into one another, just a stunning performance.

  • 2:20..."uh, i'd like to do one of my biggest records right now...well, actually they're all the same size.."

  • epic

  • Comic genius my ass, dude wasn't funny, just weird.

  • good job

  • @fredwilma100 Thank you very much!

  • @NickBigsmoke you are so funny...

  • What is the song at 3:00 ? can't find it..

  • @LouisLouase smells like teen spirit by Nirvana

  • @LouisLouase It's called ''TREAT ME NICE.''

  • @LouisLouase i think thats part of the gag...its very similar to 'Teddy Bear' musically (and several other 'hits' that were nearly identical musically)...but its nearly intelligible gibberish, with a few lines / words thrown in to make you wonder if its really an Elvis song...pretty funny

  • @glueforall i guess its basically 'Treat Me Nice' with a twist, so i was wrong. But its still mixed up enough to make you wonder. Kaufman was definately unique too bad he didn't live long enough to see the true impression his originality made on future generations of comedians.

  • I just realizedsomething.. He looks just like nicolas cage!

  • big idiot!

  • THAT was impressive. He nailed everything. Perfectly. Is it weird to say that my favorite part was when it was just him in the grandma shirt at the end?

  • @SGTItachi47 he just played a recording of elvis's voice

  • @salsatangoswing You sure about that?

  • @SGTItachi47 yes i am

  • @salsatangoswing Damn, he's smooth.

  • he's good :D

  • Long live the King of Rock n' Roll and the King of Comedy !!!

  • Imposible verlo sólo una vez!!

Es el mejor 'impersonator' de ELVIS!

    lindo Andy Kaufman! Forever!

Fantástico! canta, tiene voz, baila y es divertido!

Greetings from San José Costa Rica!! : D !

    16.11.2011

  • Love this!! shake it

  • what a hottie

  • great really great

  • GENIUS....!!

  • It is said that Elvis himself very much enjoyed Andy's impression of him.

  • He looks like Neville Longbottom

  • We must go deeper...into the layers of acting.

  • who the F disliked this? COME FORWARD COWARDS!!!!

  • @1brodiebruce lol.. SHOW YOUR FACE

  • If anyone EVER doubts the genius of Andy kaufman....

    ....well, they haven't seen this.

  • Cosa vorresti dire che sei un artista? prendere in giro le persone?Io non capiro' la tua comicita',capisco solo che sei un poverino!!!!

  • To those unfamiliar with live Elvis shows, Kaufman may seem to be adding jokes & exaggerating the singing, dancing, or mannerisms, for humor. In fact, he's not, at all: This is -exactly- as Elvis often did it, -every- silly little thing. The only "new" joke is that it's being done by a fictitious character, who's "true" persona's very un-Elvis-like. Otherwise, it's just a perfect recreation of a very funny Elvis show.

  • I love grandma...Andy Andy.....

  • 2:29 the real Elvis smile :)

  • show things what monkeys do isnt human job so fuck impression shit if u cant be YOU

  • This was ten times more entertaining than that awful prick, Elvis.

  • @cobalt100 So Elvis banged your mom; don't take it personal, he banged everybody's mom from '56 to '77.

  • Andy Kaufman was fucking brilliant! I see from comments before mine that some people lack a sense of human as well as a lack of understanding this type of humor. RIP Andy

  • dang he's good :P

  • genio ese Andy!

  • Elvis even said that he enjoyed Andy Kaufman's impersonation the most.

  • donna summers brought me here

  • You either get it or you don't.

  • Hows that comedy? its a bad impersonation - How Kaufman ever made it I'll never know, call him anything ya want but he aint a comedian,

  • @itzdermott2

I call it fuck you, sir. If you look at all of his comedy together, he was a whole different kind of comedy. He never stuck to one kind of joke.

  • @fightliferockin Are comedians not meant to make ya fuckin laugh?? Kaufman makes me fuckin CRINGE, unfunniest fuckin talentless boring little fuckin prick Ive ever watched!!

  • @itzdermott2 Not to start an argument, but actually, he didn't consider himself a comedian at all. He was a performance artist, and that cringing your feeling is partially what he was after. He is not a typical performer, and like every performer, he is not for everyone.

  • @itzdermott2 You are everything Andy Kaufman wanted, in every way. Think about that while you call him a comedian which he always said he wasn't.

  • @itzdermott2 Elvis himself liked it.

  • @itzdermott2 he played your little mind like a fiddle and left you clueless of just how hard he mindfucked you. He mindfucked you so hard you don't even realize how mindfucked you are, like, you don't even get it. Wrap that around your fucked mind for a while

  • @stfwho Really now? Youd need a little tiny fucking retarded mind to sit and watch this load of piss and convince yourself it was enjoyable and so fucking abstract and different, when all it is is a fuckin load of infantile piss that doesnt require ANY talent whatsoever!

  • @itzdermott2 Yawn

  • @itzdermott2 You watched it didn't you. You even went through the trouble of commenting. I bet you even enjoyed the whole clip. Now who's fucking the retard? Lol.

  • in man on the moon it was almost the same. lol

  • its the first time i saw andy's gig. i only knew him from Jim carrey's. and what i can say is: this is the first artist (comedy/performance artist) to has really took his craft seriously. i can see now how he has influenced many great comedians most notably by Sacha Baron Cohen. He successfully blurred the fine line between fiction and reality which made him enigmatic, and untouchable. he is a great catalyst of the medium. this guy is a freaking genius!

  • RIP Andy, you were a million years ahead of your time!

  • only best

  • In the early 1980's, NBC showed a rerun of Elvis' "Loving You". My grandmother thought it was a current movie and Andy Kaufman was playing Deke Rivers. I still laugh at it this day and was reminded of it, when I saw Andy's t-shirt.

  • the best, if not pele, he and pele definitely the best though

  • Grande Kauffman, grande Elvis

  • @WHATYOUSAYCLOWN Ok but you have to buy me dinner first, I'm not a slut

  • @LiquidPete2099 haha..!

  • When I went by Elvis' mansion there were music notes on the gate.

  • he looks like a mix of jim carey and neville longbottom

  • @cinemalego You know that Jim Carrey portrayed Andy Kaufman in the movie Man on the Moon, right?

  • @ThaDudesAvlogger I know -.-

  • I love the title of this video. "Andy Kaufman Becomes Elvis" is so much more accurate than "Imitates" or "Impersonates".

  • I really don't find anything he did the least bit funny, but his insanity sure is fascinating

  • @LiquidPete2099 Well I think the joke is suppose to be that he goes from some nerdy foreign guy, to looking and sounding like Elvis, they didn't expect that.

  • @andyandcarl The joke is more like that when he did other impersonations he did it in his Latka voice and said "Hello I'm *whatever famous person*" Or something like that.

  • ELVIS THE KING OF BLING!!!!!!!! AND AMEN EVERYTHING ELSE...... INCLUDING PIONEERING CADILLAC'S!!!!!!!!!! GOD REST ELVIS PRESLEY

  • classic

  • Did you know that Elvis himself liked this imitation a lot?

  • @serpentchimera Aren't they roommates now?

  • @jjmaster94 Probably yes, it's kinda hard to say for sure.

  • @serpentchimera i remember hearing that He thought it was the best Impersonation of himself

  • how you know he was way ahead of his time... he walked out doing the george W impression, even before we all knew who the Dubya was.

  • i think elvis copied him lol :)

  • Andy Kaufman was the absolute greatest that has ever lived. Imperishable performances like this hold testament to his genius. No-one will ever come close to his magnificence, the guy is in a class all of his own. Rest In Peace Andy.

  • better than any elvis impersonater ive ever seen. andy makes all of them other ones suck horriblely

  • the one and only Andy Kaufman...

  • brilliant! :D

  • what is the name of the song fella?

  • Elvis always said Andy was his favorite impersonator

  • no he wasnt lipsynching. i saw this on taxi many years ago. he did the elvis impersonation on two episodes . its really him. FANTASTIC.! HE WAS way ahead of his time.

  • Nicholas Cage.

  • tank you veddy much

  • "...this is really me." actually none of was, including the last bit with his getting his clothes back from the audience. What a brilliant comedic mind!

  • TREAT ME NICE !!!!!! . . excelent.....!!!!!

  • i read in "was this man a genius" that he learned how to do elvis so well cuz he practiced in his room as a kid. thats a lot of practice

  • Andy was the real King.

    Elvis would have been proud.

  • @eszeman Elvis has said that Andy was his favorite impersonator.

  • genius!

  • LOVE HIM

  • remember andy was a huge elvis fan

  • Absolutely the best Elvis impression ever!

  • i think jim carrey's impression is good, but its more cartoonish in a sense that its been processed for comedic reasons, whereas andy's is a little bit more realistic, and i think he studied elvis a little bit more seriously before he turned it into a comedy skit.

  • I just forced myself to sit through this entire clip and never even came close to cracking a smile.

  • @unputer You need to understand what kind of character he was. You see the high pitch kind of foreign guy he was, that was his character acting like elvis.

  • @unputer well yeah this was in the early 80's, almost thirty years ago, its understandable that you don't find it amusing.

  • @unputer If you would know the story of his life, you would...

  • Genius, this is brilliant.

  • Andy Kaufman a man of his own time!

I loved his humor! Thank you for posting.

  • Two people didnt get this.

  • This was Kaufman's best bit. It's conceptually perfect and executed so well.

  • LEGEND!

  • That was brilliant

  • hahaha i think the only people who can ever impersonate Elvis successfully are comedians lol they're just too good at it

  • @smashinatesweetinate Andy wasn't a comedian

  • @spetnik even if he wasn't technically one he would be by today's standards

  • @smashinatesweetinate Well, maybe a "comic" (according to Leslie Nielsen's definition) :p

  • @spetnik maybe lol

i just know he was funny, he did (amazing) impressions and he pretty much did standup so to me thats a comedian lol

  • I guess I just don't get why this is funny?

  • @Xamdoux

It's simple - there is something very, very wrong with you.

  • This is what R.E.M sings about in "Man on The Moon" great song! It took me awhile to figure it out.

  • one person got beat as a child

  • Much better than I expected. Favorite of Elvis.

  • i love grandma

  • jim carrey is better

  • @slashunia Carrey is a big fan and cites Kaufman as an influence. He also did a fine job portraying Kaufman in a film, which you probably missed.

  • @weiner66

u mean man on the moon ? thats why i told that Carrey is better... he does Elvis parody much better in my opinion :)

  • GENIUS

  • It's Magic 3:05-4:38 Andy Kaufman the guy

  • Nicholas Cage should do Andy Kaufman as Elvis.

  • @rockel1986 really?

  • Elvis himself said - this was his favorite tribute - because there was humor attached.

  • can someone tell me what he says between 2.10 -2.14 ? "faster than water so"...?

  • Comment removed

  • @pladaros if i run off stage in the middle of the show don't worry i'll be right back

  • @jozzb ok, thanks !

  • @pladaros He says, "This is Gatorade and they told me backstage it works ten times faster than water, so if I run off stage in the middle of the show, don't worry, I'll be right back"

  • @PaulineHere ok, thanks!

  • @PaulineHere A line Elvis used on stage.

  • Un paradigma de la comicidad mundial.

  • this Guy is amazing at imitating Elvis Presley.

  • @sportssl97 He was so good that Elvis himself said that Andy Kaufman was his favorite Elvis impersonator.

  • Andy Kaufman becomes Elvis

  • was he lipsynching ??

  • @csillag4 nope

  • He was OBSESSED with Elvis. Anyway, no.

  • @csillag4 no lipsynching mate all andy

  • This man is the reason I became a comedian.
