According to the book "Lash! The 100 Great Scenes of Men Being Whipped in the Movies," Ricardo Montalban was one of the few actors to suffer both an on-screen chest whipping and a back whipping. (His back felt the lash in "The Saracen Blade.")

I've never watched this movie before (is it Italian and American?), so it's really great seeing him in an unusual role, since he didn't use to appear in epic movies. And with Rhonda Fleming, one of the most beautiful Hollywood stars! Thanks a million, peplumz, and I agree with you: he'll be missed very much!

Thanks for posting this. Although not "sword and sandal" by any means, Montalban was at his very sexiest in "My Man and I" with Shelley Winters. A long, good life, career, and marriage.
