The Throwable Pocket is an OPTION if you dont want it you can have the pocket with OUT the velcro. also avalaible is an Optional system named the LION EXO POCKET that has a HOOK that is certified to 1983. the hook name escapes me at this time but it is Yellow and has a handle ? If you are in NEW YORK call Fire-End & Croker and there Sales Rep will be glad to show you the system.
I like the set up but like FFDGP said bag out the window shouldn't be standard procedure, but if your bailing out do what you gotta do. I don't like the velcro attachment, works great when new but it will wear out and when that rope gets wet i could fall off. Now you could have a 50 foot rope tangling up on stuff in a house if you don't know it came off.
Thanks for posting: The harness to DCD extension is way too long. Having just a carabiner at the anchor end is not sufficient in a worst case scenario. Throwing the storage bag out the window has a potential to cause more problems than it's designed to solve - IE: Getting hung up on any number of obstructions before reaching the ground - Not a bad option, but shouldn't be a standard procedure. Great to see Manufacturers addressing FF safety, but more R&D needed.
