My name is Alan Grigsby. I was the president of the Heights Singer" during the 2005-2006 school year. Although I have graduate some time ago, this song resonates in my soul! It does something to me every time I hear it! When I was in high-school this was the song we sang before EVERY performance. My director, Craig McGaughey, never let this tradition fade away.. It is an inspirational song and I pray that Heights vocalist will continue to sing this for eternity!
thank you so much, Adrienne. I was a member from the 1974-75 and 75-76 seasons. Was in the audience to hear this as an encore in the Chrismas and Spring concerts of 1973-74.
I wish in Glee Club 1974-1975. Mr. Thomas was a wonderful mentor and teacher. The only part of high school I remember fondly. We represented Ohio in the bi-centennial and toured and sang in Washington D.C. I am sorry to hear of his passing. Thank you for sharing this.
Trying to sing through the tears in my eyes...heart in my throat. GGC-MC '72...the best experience of my life, lessons learned, friends made, discipline ingrained, hard work and sheer joy...a feeling of belonging...thank you Mr. Thomas...I will never forget you.
Heart broken. Eyes swollen. So beautiful! This is the FIRST Heights Singers version of "Let It Be Me?" Listen to those amazing dynamics! Never again would that be duplicated, what with all the trying to sing through tears and hearts-in-throats. Love and prayers to Mr. William D. Thomas and family. And Blessings to all Heights Singers / GGC-MC members EVERYWHERE!
Thanx for putting this together, Adrienne !! Brought back so many good memories and the pics are awesome !! Yes, "perfect practice." Rest well, Mr. T and enjoy your new digs !!
