  • ausome mate nice big girl that 1!!!!

  • thats a nice looking female and nice clutch there!!!!

  • Nice method! Well done. I posted a video response can you allow it please?

  • I never strip, I allow the mother to carry. It seems to stress the mother out too much. I make sure there are plenty of hiding spaces in the tank for the fry. Each to their own.

  • beatufull.

  • Hi!! great Stripping!! I do same with my fronts after 18-21 days :D but 2 of my fronts are still imature they eat their eggs...I will get an incubator...but for now the other 4 females do a great job! so no need really lol I will just let the other 2 mature. I need to say that this fish is very hardy if fed right! and if you breed them the fry are great! they are very active and rarely hide unlike the wild caught are very shy.

  • Wouldn't it be better if you had a larger bowl, and stripped it while the mother fish was in the water?

  • Wow at first i thought you were another idiot that just was mean to fish but good job!! i like what you did most owners wouldn't do that for their fish!!:-D

  • So yeah, I believed this is one problem all african cichlid owner face. What is a good way of removing the female out of the main tank without moving contructed structure out or around.

  • lol i love how people, talk crap when they obviously know nothing about mouth brooders, and frontosa in the first place. I have seen many fronts eats there eggs/fry because they got hungry or spooked. This would be called preventative measures. Most people actually take them out as eggs and put them in a tumbler, at least she got to hold her babies for a little while. Very nice female by the way /thumbs up

  • @brenden619 true that brother!!

  • pretty darn cool =]

  • YOU IDIOT !!!!!

  • 0:08'deki kusturmaya YUH diyorum nekadar çok yavru bıraktı öyle :D

  • how do you know when to strip her?

  • Sure ! Az long az it'z 1 or 2. They require sum space. Theze thingz grow anywhere from 14 to 16 inches. So dependn on how many u want u will hav 2 upgrade wen they get a certain size. 55 iz jus gud 2 start off with.

  • how will it see with YELLOW CALVUS ?? how many of them must i have, and when are they making cichlids

  • can u give me one? :)

    how old is that female?

  • holy crap that was a lot of fry

  • yes for definite sure you can you can have max of 12 in there and put little fishes as well lol

  • why don't you let the frys out naturally???

  • this is called "stripping". some mothers are bad at holding(not all) so owners will have an option to strip before the mother spits them out during egg incubation or eating them

  • why don't you let the frys out naturally?, thats not really neccessary.

  • you're an idiot

  • Go grow a pair

  • are these available in australia?

  • dang.....frontosas breed just like arowanas!!

  • well frontosas are cichlids and lots of cichlids are mouth breeders.

  • just really african based cichlids are mouth breeders.

  • wat wer u actually doing to the fish

    ?

  • he was getting the babies out of its mouth

  • very nice work ! i have 5 fronnys 2 male and 3 female, there are about 7 months old in a 690L tank, males are about 3 inches and females are about 2 inches, very slow growing but by far the best fish to keep in an aquarium ! they are also living with 3 blue dolphins about 20 electric yellows (gotta get the babys out at some stage) 3 clown loaches 5 bristle noes and 1 30cm pleco !! my tank is quite happy they get along well with each other !!!

  • how did you know straight away that there were no more left in her mouth? (just curious)

  • im just curious how fast do frotosas grow my friend just bought one and the only tank he can put it in is a ten gallon right now where he keeps his feeder fish and the frontosa is a little smaller than the feeder fish cant be more than an inch and a half just wondering how long it will take to get big

  • Frontosas have a very long life span...so they grow slowly ( sort of like the geo suramiresi, slow growing fish)...reaching breeding size at 3rd to 4rd years of age. With good care and enough space they can easily reach 25 years. I wouldn't recommend just to have one...they do very well in groups with a male to female ratio of 1:4. they grow really big...a well fed male is about 14 inches reaching 16 easily. Cheers!

  • 30 civarı awr :D adam zengin oldu aq :D

  • Why are you doing this?

  • Some Frontosa variants will not care for their offspring full term in captivity. They are stripped about a week before that happens usually.

  • Agreed In captivity its much easier on the Mother to strip them and get her back to eating as well. This gives the babies and mother a much better chance of survival. Frontosias often swallow their brood in captivity.

  • benim bundan 5-6 cm küçük yavrulamasını iple çekiyorum darısı başıma!?

  • Hey hope you had more success with breeding them. I love frontosas but they too shy of fish, beautiful though.

  • it is not natural!

  • Who says it has to be natural? If the babies are not taken from the mother, It's possible for them to be killed. In the wild the babies would have enough chance to spread out, not in a tank. So the very essence of your question is illogical, being that keeping them in a captivity is not naural...

  • Hep böyle bi frontosam olmasını istemişimdir!!!

  • maşallah balık güzel satsana :D yavrularda iyi para eder.

  • Frontosadan yavru almış herif köşeyi döndü çok şanşlıymış demekki...

  • helaaaalll sen bu işi biliosun :D :D

  • züpersin abi:D

  • big fucking fish :D wish i had one of those

  • Blimey that was a successful strip, how many fry did you get?

  • kusturma dediğin böyle olur bravo

  • was she getting that weak from not eating the reason you had to do that?

  • oh, i ask because i heard that oscars dont eat when mouthbrooding, so they get really weak, and i thought since they were in the same family they do the same

  • hey wasn't that a male frontosa due to the large lump on its head?

  • ... That wasn't beautiful. Let nature do her job. This is pathetic.

  • That was beautiful!

LOL...try it with a 3 inch yellow lab, not so easy!

  • brava..!

  • awesome video

  • LOL I didnt know what was going on till the end
