@jwikan first off it wont be a few cents u dumbass, second of all txing the rich isnt gona be en ough for this expensive fail government control, lieing like obama always does meaning obama said "we will not tax the middle class" well omg look my parents did get taxed, obama is a smooth talker and a lair, hes just putting us farther in debt and the goverment is getting more control, its not solving anything but creating whinny bitch republicans and more stuck up in power democrats
I think we should all pay more tax. I know my bill isn't that bad. Tax the rich more? Absolutely, a few percent will not hurt them and their society becomes more stable, safer etc. We all end up paying for each others medical anyhow in higher premiums when hospitals have to care for people with no insurance. Us rich people make most of our money off of the middle and lower class. The smaller the middle class gets the less money the rich make. Now if we would all join a gym and get in shape!
We need some real investigations, don't just survey with a microphone. We shouldn't simply focus on insurance. Without training, resource development and compatible technology, we'll fail ourselves, our govt, and even our private sectors. Young people, don't just looking for a pay job. There will be a five to ten years of steep learning curve ahead of us. After the economy crash, we know couple of other things are more important than money for our future economy.
The problem is people making less than $100,000.00 can't afford to pay more taxes let along those of us who make less than $60 to 70. Oh but the rich and fu*king famous don't dare tax them more.
Don't tax the rich more they already pay for most things in the country. Just get off the milk bottle before Mommy and Daddy (the rich) leave the country. Over taxation in New York is driving out the rich in groves. I don't think you really want them to leave the county do you, like they are leaving New York.
Very noble of you, I however am a greedy bastard who likes to keep what I work for. I don't like anyone Forcing me to do donate to charity... kinda defeats the purpose don't it?
Because there is a difference between providing "free healthcare" (which by the way, there is no such thing) for 30 million people and 300 million people. Oh, and there is that whole freedom thing. Some people like to have a say in what kind of health care they get.
The principle is the SAME. And we didn't ask the rich over here if they wanted to pay higher taxes, we made them do it. Your perception of freedom is flawed.
I know the principle CAN be the same. I don't want to sound unreasonable, I know that many need financial help. My family is one of them. But It frustrates me that people expect and demand handouts when they don't in fact need it. Of course, I'm no one to judge who Really needs it. But, people take for granted that we have the opportunity to take steps forward to make our lives successful, whatever our individual interpretation of success is. If I have it wrong, then what IS freedom?
In Sweden public healthcare is provided to everyone regardless of the income of that person, but then again, everybody pays for it- meaning you don't get to choose whether you want to pay for it or not, you just do. Since the taxes are high, the state-health care is included in the taxes. That means it might appear as if you would have less money in the first place but then your government provides you wilth all the health care and education required. I think many Americans fear that since they
would actually get a bit less money in their bank account after salary day. The issue is that this system was created by a left/social democratic goverment, which the US has never had and therefor h
as applied conservatism on this issue.
I think freedom is not to be able to chose whether you want to pay your taxes, since they provide money that is by all means necessary for the state and would help a lot of people, providing them with better schools and hospitals. all else would be selfish.
I think taxes are necessary. You are absolutely right, we benefit from them. But it now boils down to our personal opinion. I, for one, don't want to trust the government with my health care. Because people in power, generally speaking, are corrupt and in it for themselves. I want to be able to put more of my money in my bank account.t. Say what you will about me, but I want my money to stay in my pocket. Government should stick to leading and protecting a country, not to become a redistributor.
You have a point there. But thing is our goverment is not corrupt- which is the no.1 issue with the US; if I knew that my goverment was corrupt would I then entrust it with my money? Of course not. But that is something the US have failed to do, creating a stable government, because the government has more tasks at hand than protecting and leading a country. It has to provide for its citizens, and unfortunately the 30 million unensured Americans haven't seen much of that yet!
Instead of forcing all of this gov. health care reform down our throats, imagine the gov. sponsoring a health care plan that included with your unemployment benefits? And or another plan for welfare recipients? All the would be left is the worthless lazy bastards, illegals and people who can afford their own ins. We also required a change in regs. for the insurance and medical institutions and increased competition. YT doesn't provide enough space for me to go into further detail of the plan.
borg: It's doesn't work well though. While we may have 25million without care here in the states, the other 2,750,000 will have reduced care. Except for the senators and congressmen. They will still have their cadillac policies. And the rich can always find someone to take care of them. Tell me which country has better socialized health care.
borg: Tell me more. How and why? I'll tell you one thing about America. We don't trust our government. The majority of both the left and right are corrupted. How can I trust them with my health? Perhaps Sweden government cares about Swedish people. I can't say that about Bush, Cheny, 0bama, Pelosi, Reid, etc.......
In Sweden we had a left/social democratic government fighting for a socialized health care system and when they were voted for government they put their plans to action- I figure it might be easier in a small country but we have pretty high taxes. That makes it possible for the state to offer almost free health care which is provided by the state.
I think what the US needs is more commitment to its politics, younger people from the working class who are devoted to the people!
.... who will actually have benefit themselves from the reform. For example I don't think Bush would ever use a state-run hospital, he'd go prívate. Thing is in Sweden the privat sector is very restricted when it comes to health care and educational issues so that privately run companies cannot take control over that sector and exploit it but provide care for people.:)
Yes. Tax the rich. But if we keep taxing the rich, then they won't be rich anymore. Then who are the Democrats going to tax to get more money? They're certainly not going to tax themselves. Look at 0bamas cabinet. At least 5 of them have tax violations against them including the Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, Tom Daschle, Ron Kirk, Nancy Killefer, and a number of others. So why do they care about taxes? Because they don't seem to pay them.
No surprise that California, one of the richest but most liberal state, especially in fiscal term, is on the edge of bankruptcy. Now Californian socialist model with its highest tax rate, strictest enviromental protection rules, and very generous welfare and healthcare systems is copied by Obama administration with its ambitious, costly health care reform of one trillion dollars for everybody including 12 milliions illegal immigrants who would be naturalized under Obama immigration reform.
TOMP6666: Some liberal has marked your excellent point as spam. Cowards can't even handle facts without underhanded tactics. I tried to repost but I thought that I would let ya know and you could repost if you wanted to. Keep up the good fight.
Of course if you offer candy to a baby, they will take it. Some people have been so brainwashed and dumbed down they don't see or care about the big picture, but only that they want FREE healthcare. They don't understand that healthcare quality will deteriorate, that there will be rationing, and the government will control your life.
According to the Economist Magazine (summer '08), by 2006, 75% of the economic gains made by the Bush tax cuts of '02 went to the wealthiest 1% of Americans. This was the same 1% of Americans who, before Reagan, owned 20% of the countries total wealth and today, thanks to Reagan, own 40% of the countries total wealth. So, you can complain about taxing the rich in philosophical terms, but any more Reagan/Bush tax cuts and the wealthiest 1% of the country will end up owning all of it.
Im not rich and I dont even want it. Taxing the rich prevents entrepreneurs from creating jobs and investing in the economy kind of like taxing Howard Hughes or Henry Ford to the point that Howard cant buy TWA and Henry cant finish that horseless carriage project hes been working on.
Obama's socialist policies are a failure. The faster everyone realizes the more of a chance we have to save our country. Stop punishing the achievers or soon you will have no one to punish.
"Achievers"? What about all the people at the bottom who's hard work has greatly increased productivity without seeing any real gain in their paycheck? Where is that money going? We are heading toward a plutocracy. We had a middle class at one time without depending on a few at the top. The rich payed more and we had balance So bring on the 'socialism'.
I'd have to agree with oilhammer on this one. I'm not sure Obama is a Marxist but I think his personal experience with his mom passing away from cancer may have coloured the way he sees health care. I'm not in favour of government having their hand in anything really but the private health care industry remind me of the bankers at this point. everyone should be able to go to the doctor and have coverage but just taxing the rich isn't going to cut it in my view.
Obama looks at the rich through a Marxist's eye . . . . he thinks it is unfair they have so much. Nothing like killing incentive to get ahead. Anyway, he can't tax them enough the way he spends money. He and Congress would blow through all the money of the rich in no time. Gov't health care will not be better than private. Imagine the same people who write the tax code doing your health care regulations!
Oil, Too true! Currently obamer's moving more toward Hitler's ideals and the use of people like cows! No sense in having individual freedoms and motivation to strive for an American dream that used to exist......
But for those that think others should get something for free... how about a new car, new house, larger HD TVs, RVs, etc... and all we have to do is tax the rich, right?
