I think we should all pay more tax. I know my bill isn't that bad. Tax the rich more? Absolutely, a few percent will not hurt them and their society becomes more stable, safer etc. We all end up paying for each others medical anyhow in higher premiums when hospitals have to care for people with no insurance. Us rich people make most of our money off of the middle and lower class. The smaller the middle class gets the less money the rich make. Now if we would all join a gym and get in shape!

Without training, resource development and compatible technology, we'll fail ourselves, our govt, and even our private sectors. Young people, don't just looking for a pay job. There will be a five to ten years of steep learning curve ahead of us. After the economy crash, we know couple of other things are more important than money for our future economy.

In Sweden public healthcare is provided to everyone regardless of the income of that person, but then again, everybody pays for it- meaning you don't get to choose whether you want to pay for it or not, you just do. Since the taxes are high, the state-health care is included in the taxes. That means it might appear as if you would have less money in the first place but then your government provides you wilth all the health care and education required. I think taxes are necessary. You are absolutely right, we benefit from them. But it now boils down to our personal opinion. I, for one, don't want to trust the government with my health care. Because people in power, generally speaking, are corrupt and in it for themselves. I want to be able to put more of my money in my bank account.t. Say what you will about me, but I want my money to stay in my pocket. Government should stick to leading and protecting a country, not to become a redistributor.

You have a point there. But thing is our goverment is not corrupt- which is the no.1 issue with the US; if I knew that my goverment was corrupt would I then entrust it with my money? Of course not. But that is something the US have failed to do, creating a stable government, because the government has more tasks at hand than protecting and leading a country. It has to provide for its citizens, and unfortunately the 30 million unensured Americans haven't seen much of that yet!

Instead of forcing all of this gov. health care reform down our throats, imagine the gov. sponsoring a health care plan that included with your unemployment benefits? In Sweden we had a left/social democratic government fighting for a socialized health care system and when they were voted for government they put their plans to action- I figure it might be easier in a small country but we have pretty high taxes. That makes it possible for the state to offer almost free health care which is provided by the state.

I think what the US needs is more commitment to its politics, younger people from the working class who are devoted to the people!

This was the same 1% of Americans who, before Reagan, owned 20% of the countries total wealth and today, thanks to Reagan, own 40% of the countries total wealth. So, you can complain about taxing the rich in philosophical terms, but any more Reagan/Bush tax cuts and the wealthiest 1% of the country will end up owning all of it.

I'd have to agree with oilhammer on this one. I'm not sure Obama is a Marxist but I think his personal experience with his mom passing away from cancer may have coloured the way he sees health care. I'm not in favour of government having their hand in anything really but the private health care industry remind me of the bankers at this point. everyone should be able to go to the doctor and have coverage but just taxing the rich isn't going to cut it in my view.
