  • THIS AIN'T LUCKY LAGER !

  • By the way, what albums do you suggest? Thanks in advance.

  • Is this the story of your life? Good luck and God bless...

  • I discovered Pere Ubu on the album "Urgh! A music war". That and a few other records saved me from the pop rock wasteland of the time.

  • This should be the "official" video .Hat's off to you Sakis75 !

  • scarcely any Pere Ubu on YouTube this far, please someone refill the blanks in YT

  • Miracolo a Milano

  • Pour moi (mais tout le monde s'en fout), l'un de ses meilleurs morceaux. L'envolée aérienne au milieu du bordel, ...

  • I need help ...... I am looking for a Pere Ubu song that U tube pull out some five years ago. All I remember is they show his head with a baseball hat and he look like he's a farmer. The video shows a woman playing the bass and she kick some ass. Does anyone know the name of the song. Thanx

  • I think I know the one you mean. Folly of Youth is the track with the woman playing bass. I saw it you you tube for a short time

  • Michelle Temple the bass is bigger than her!

  • Wow!. I never really got into Pere Ubu [you know how it is; so many bands..so little time!]. Just started checking them out 'cos julian Cope keeps ranting on about how good they are in his little booky thing]......They are amazing!....I'm sold!. Brilliant!

  • I miss the squiggling noises :(

  • I do like this song quite a lot though!! - and kudos on the look of the video! good imagery! very Dada!!

  • posthumanhero - well, scaleshort said something about Pere Ubu being boring, without imagination and such - I tend to generally like the earlier stuff too! - 'Dub Housing' probably my fav. - the box-set is quite good which you may have - you're probably right about the later stuff not being as interesting due to line-up changes - and maybe D. Thomas doesn't live in the industrial areas of Cleveland anymore!

  • i have the oriignal lps........ashame theres no videos of the real thing up here, aside from birdes. from urgh...hardly one of their best early songs.

  • pere Ubu and david Thomas produce amazing, challenging, vital and artful music. Love them to bits.

  • What a great tune - timeless!

  • ela re file! poly oraio to kommati poy anevases!

    old school entelos leme...:))

    cheers~~

  • i bought pere uba way back in 76 or 80 that final solutiun song and flipper's ha ha ha where on the complation album "let them eat jelly beans ..a clasic tha guitar in this song reminds me of iggys album cold metal

  • boring!!? - without fantasy! - lot of imagination and fantasy in there!! maybe you need to listen to more of thier stuff & and read up on them so you know where they're coming from! - or maybe you don't have the 'fantasy' to percieve it - if not, just stick to Brittany Spearmint, or the total Hendrix, Prince rip-off, L Kravitz !

  • i don't know what scaleshort said, because the ubu team shut him off -- maybe the man race is a bit too attached to rating things from 1 to 5....that said, i have a real problem with ubu stuff that came after 'tenement year[' -- most ubu fans don't even go that far, oh well atleast not here in philly where i live (which is kinda backwards)...the later stuff just isn't all that interesting because thomas was, apparently, scaring his band away one-by-one, so the music comes across as flat product.

  • Wow!!

  • Thank Glycon for all the bands that managed to create outside the pop-matrix borehouse..

  • the pop-matrix borehouse...catchy

  • @zurapDOR Glucon, aka the most rock n roll god. How can you not like a snake with a Paris Hilton head?

By the way never checked them out, but always heard about them. THIS SONG KICKS ASS.

  • @THEMANOUTOFTHECAVE

I worship Glycon :) (Praise her) I consider this vid/song a thank to any bands making out outside the mainstream popdome . Sorry if I was putting out any doubt about that.. cheers ;-J

  • patafisico

  • I saw them live around '76 when Pete Laughner (R.I.P.) played with them. They had this vibe that is hard to explain. I really liked them.

    100% original.

  • yeah I caught them in the uk late 70's supporting the Gang of Four and they where unreal ... completely loved them ... David Thomas is like some kind of hyper deranged Oliver Hardy

  • Just to correct some previous comment. This video is actually brilliant.

  • great tune, what year is it from?

  • 1993. "Story of My Life" LP.

  • Like in some dream of my chilhood. Huge house and I don´t know what.

  • I Pere Ubu che preferisco sono quelli dei loro primi quattro album ma anche questi non scherzano, eh!

  • I love the red, shape-shifting creature at 1:24. Really cool concept!

  • This song really makes me want to listen to more Pere Ubu.This is my entry into them really.Wish me luck as I delve into their world.

  • Beware, their other stuff is nothing like this!, I recommend 'The Modern Dance' Album.

  • me too! i searched pere ubu after seeing them listed as an inspiration for a bunch of other bands and trying to decide if i like it or am just weirdly fascinated like watching a really good commercial...

  • cleveland rocks!!!....although sometimes somewhat strangely

  • Love Pere Ubu. One of the best bands ever.

  • i didn't know that the video was yours, it doesn't write it somewhere

  • ehy, this video is mine!!! why dont you wrote it?!

  • PereUbu is great whether they go pop or not

  • that's right

  • Ahead or behind their time they're just plain good.

  • Dear Pere Ubu's fans

here an adress, writte the three "w" dot myspace dot com slash pereuburadio, and it is exactly what it means.Thank you for that video and thank you for reading

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

    let's arm-wrestle!

    it's all good!!

  • "Come Home" is Ubu at it's dark and brooding best. Ubu doesn't have to be "quirky" to be great. Better than anything on "Why I hate Women" (which isn't a bad album at all).

  • It's not exactly the best Ubu, really... the music is quite dull, and there's no real spark. Their earlier material is more interesting, esp. the Alan Ravenstine period, and the Wooden Birds material. Pale Boys also is better than this... "Why I Hate Women" is probably the best they've done in a while, more energetic and quirky. On viewings, the video "Breath" has almost 10,000, "Birdies" has over 1,000 - both of them deserveit, they're really excellent and creative performances.

  • Genius is genius. The video and the music are astonishing and ahead of time. This is pure American Acropolis.

  • just so you know: the video is fan-made crap.

  • yes that's true. it's mine but i don't like it so much. and more, i'm not a fan.

  • De par ma chandelle verte, 24 in a day ain't bad.

  • That is right 24 people have viewed this video. Pure genius is always neglected. David Thomas is up there with Lou, Iggy, and anyone else you'd think of. In the backseat of a blue fin mystery I hang my head and cry! The best rock band I ever saw.
