The Dawn ("Forward Unto Dawn") was not even introduced until Halo 3. The ship used here was called "In Amber Clad." You can see it if you look really close... In Amber Clad was lost when it was stolen by the Flood and crashed on High Charity. Commander Keyes got a new ship, "Forward Unto Dawn," which we do not see until Halo 3.

that because halo 2 was made before ODST therefore Bungie didn't develop the idea of ODSTs dropping in at that scene yet. So you are not supposed to see drop pods falling in Halo 2

If you could clarify about what part of the Halo 3 ending confuses you, I can help you out better.

And as the video shows, ODST's plot starts at the end of the Halo 2 level Metropolis when the carrier jumps into slipspace. The story from there fills in the gaps for what happens in New Mombassa up until Halo 3 starts.

odst woudl more then likely take place during that jump MC and Keys joined in on.. considering the gap between that is you playing as the arbiter.. Odst is just the gameplay that shoudl hav ebeen the arbiters gameplay.. thankfully its been made now with awesome graphics though.. i reckon all the halos remastered would be mad as.. combat evolved with halo 3/ODST graphics.. best game ever..
